Is it true that playing old games in emulators on PC is forbidden?

I don't think we're allowed to discuss it here, but AFAIK it's legal as long as you own the games you're playing. Downloading ROMs of games that you don't own is illegal.

Its a very large and sticky grey area, the emulators themselves are rarely illegal - the game BIOS files and ROM's however are. That said, talking about emu's on this forum is a no no.

As said above, emulation is a gray area and downloading rom and bios images is mostly illegal.

Discussion about emulators is therefore not allowed here, sorry.
