Is it worth the extra $400 to crossfire my HD2900 XT if i only have an Intel Core 2Duo E6700 2.66ghz processor?
Will I be able to last a long time w/ such a setup? Or would it be a better investment to replace my processor?

It would be a better investment to just leave your rig alone, from the sound of it. There shouldn't be anything you can't max right now. What's the rest of your system specs anyway?

That computer should be just fine for quite a long time. If you feel like your processor may be holding you back you can overclock it. I wouldn't recommend a dual HD2900XT setup unless you've got a rather hefty power supply either. All in all, you have pretty much zero reasons to upgrade your rig.
