I bought left 4 dead last saturday and the game itself is definately a gem but its campaign is way to short. I blew threw it in about 4 hours. The online play definately adds some hours but im not sure it was worth the full $57 (Tax included) that i payed for it. I think it should of hit the market at $30.

You should've bought it off Steam when they had their 50% discount.

This game is made for online play and after looking at how many hours I've spent with it, then yes I'd say it's worth the price.

I love L4D. its been different every time i play it. Versus is incredible, and by far the most heart-pounding experience I have had. for campaign, Online changes alot because the director acts differently when there are four alive characters in play. Its also funner to play on expert. after you beat one campaign on normal and another on advanced, i suggest you go to expert, or do what I did, go straight to expert.

I personally think it was worth the money. I have played far worse games than this with the same Price tag.

Also, if you didn't know, the SDk is coming out this spring along with a new game mode dubbed survival and the last two versus campaigns.

I have over 100 Hours in Left 4 Dead.

So let me say this. No, if you're going only on the amount of content (and soon that won't matter with the SDK and DLC); Yes if you take into consideration the amount of replayability.

Left 4 Dead is one of the best co-op games I've ever played. So despite the seemingly steep price tag for a multiplayer game, it's definitely worth it.

More than worth the price for all the hours you'll play with others on-line.

I have tons of hours played on this and still fun since the special infected always changes things. Theres games i play like a pro and theres some i look like a noob its never the same. And with additional stuff coming for the game it was well worth the 45 a paid when it first came out. This game is very original expect alot of clones of this game soon hehehe.

You dont HAVE to have 3 or more friends that own the game to enjoy it. Playing with pubbers is painful at times, but it's still fun. It does tend to get a bit repetitive but it's the perfect game if you have like an hour or two to kill. I've put in probably close to 80 hours since I got the game when it first came out. Considering a lot of games nowadays are $50+ and only have a 10 hour or less singleplayer campaign with little to no replayability and no multiplayer at all, i'd say yes it's definitely worth it.

I got L4D PC for $20 on Amazon.com on Black Friday. But I got bored of the game within an hour. I would've sold the game off but Steam prevents you from doing that. I hate Steam for this reason. :P

You're right, interesting question, i had to convince a friend to buy it, it's a lot more fun with someone you know, & on skype, But, i can't help but feel, it is a little repetitive, i've seen no customs maps (they haven't released the SDK yet i know), and death toll and dead air are scheduled for realese "soon". Versus mode adds a lot, and is a lot of fun, if VERY frustrating, (playing zombies can be infuriating when you don't get any hits on the survivors/balls it up. Still, i've been playing it as much as COD recently, so it was probably worth it.

Overall no, the $50 wasn't worth it at the time I bought it. Got about 20-25 hours in the game and haven't been back since. Just get's way to repetitive, but in the end it'll be worth it with the SDK and content patch coming out soon. Really though I think the patch hurt me more then helped, it really took out that randomness factor in versus, making it so each team got everything in the same spot as the other team. But there is one that that gets me, if they let us change the difficulty in versus I'd still be playing L4D right now because normal is just a freaking joke.
