I just purchased 2GB (2 sticks of 1GB each) and put them in the 2 slots I had left on my vista computer. When I go to system properties it says I have 3.00GB which would be correct. Most things seem to run faster. But thing is when I go to Can You Run It for the game Crysis, it says fail and only recognizes me as having 1023GB. So do you think the new RAM is running properly or not?

It should be working properly; if it says that it has allocated the total amount of RAM that you have, eg; 3GB of RAM availiable or something like that, it should work. Somethings just act a bit weird anyway. like my game Command & Conquer (TM) Generals (R), I check the EASY Info program that comes with it and it says my speed is " -1333mhz " but my Dual CPU is 2.93GHz, Great for most games. I immedietly knew it was a glitch; because negetive speeds are impossible.unless you are going back in time or something. Try running a different diagnostic program.

Alright. That's good to know. I figured it should be working correctly if my system info says i have 3.00GB. Must be a glitch with the can you run it program.

Well I just tried MemTurbo diagnostic program and it only recognizes me as having 1022MB. What's going on here? My system says 3.00GB but every other program says around 1GB?

Try playing a game that the minimum requirements say 1.5GB of RAM, if it's choppy, there may be a problem.

Well I don't know if they are arranged properly. When I got this computer the guy that sold it to me put in another GB and he put it in the 3rd slot. So the first and 3rd were tooken up. So this time around with the 2GB I put them in the 2nd and 4th slots. The 4 slots are divided into two colors- 2 orange, and 2-purpleish. If that might help?

You need to just push the memory into the slots, you should here the clack sound, it means the memory is in place. You can go into your bios when your computer is booting up also, that will tell you your memory.

NO. Absolutly not. Do Not shove them into there. that is how you break it. Unlock the slot, then gently ease the RAM stick into the slot then lock it in.

What was does your memory say on POST or in your BIOS? Might also check task manager and see what your total ram is listed as.

You got the right ram for your mobo right?

Cause if you didn't it wouldn't show up or work properly.

You do have to givem a good amount of force to get them into the slots. They should click like Gamerkat said. Although that still doesn't explain why Vista says 3 gigs.
