ive heard that a celeron D is awful for games and i was wondering should i upgrade because the only games ill be playing on it is games from late 2006 and 2005 so far i have a gig of ram and is probaly going to upgrade to a 6800GT or a 7600GT
men, if you use your computer for gaming, you have serius Issues, change procesor and GPU and you will see a very Very very very big big big difference
if money is not a huge issue then i would just get a new comp, i used to have an intel celeron at 1ghz. about 2 weeks ago i bought a new comp with an amd athlon x2 3800....HUGE performance jump. it plays games like warcraft 3, starcraft, empires, age of empires with no problems at all.

if anything at least get a pentium D most people will say that there not great for gaming but the one i have runs doom 3 and quake maxed at 1280x1024 just fine
i got one in one of my other pc witha 6600 vannelia and it runs just fine..... i can put games on like fear with no hitching or trying for waiting for the cpu to catch up and render the stuff.... bf2 and bf2142 it gets a lil slow when u throw on settings but anything in med it can handle fine.... oblivion is fine 2 outside is a lil catcheeee somethimes but it catchs up fast...
