What you should tell the little punk is that popularity doesn't mean jack when it comes to actual quality.Like for example, millions more people watch American Idol than they do The Office.Because people are stupid. BloodMist
i hate American idol.

Only children and young adults play PC games in the UK these days.  Once you get older you move onto the consoles and begin to just enjoy playing the games as you lose interest is mucking around with a PC (especially if you have to do that at work all day).

For most of us it goes this way.  During our teens we save up and buy a good PC gaming machine and kept updating it..... we want the best graphics etc but it doesn't really help the software companys that due to the cost of getting the hardware we just pirated the games as well to save money.

After a few years we begin to grow up - get nice jobs and girl/boy friends - Our PC begins to show its age but it is still great for browsing the internet... its either keep it or just buy a laptop.

Finally we get our own homes and our first huge TV set of our own.... a console is bought to play on the new TV and plenty of games are bought with our disposable income....

It's these people buying console games first for themselves and then for their children to enjoy as well that keep the software industry ticking over .... the children become teenagers and the whole cycle repeats as they go out and buy their first PC.

I read in a gaming magazine that PC games are definitely more popular in Europe than they are here in the US. In fact, according to the article its popularity over there is one of the only reasons developers are still being given large enough budgets to make PC games. Thank God for the European market is all I can say...

Guild Wars is certainly a very popular game in Europe from what I've seen online. They have some pretty good Guilds there as well.

it might be like that in your case, but it's 180 degrees diffrent from most people. Majority of console gamers are very young, they are teenagers or in their early 20s. while the biggest group of pcgamers is over 30 years old. Average Pcgame is 8-10 years older than average console gamer

I wouldn' t know about that. At least here in Finland WoW owns the whole country. There's really no other game that comes even close in terms of numbers of players.

All my friends but one plays PC games, he is from the UK and loves his playstation. The EB games near my work, on Chapel st, has its back wall devoted to PC games so they must have strong sales. I will ask them next time i stop by. Im from Melbourne, Australia which is kinda like europe.

The only games that seem to be selling for the PC are The Sims and WOW. Its been like this for a while now. Consoles seem to have a bit more variety in their sales.

I was having an argument with my little brother (he's in 6th grade). He thinks that consoles are better than PC games for the sole reason of consoles being more popular in the US. I told him that PC gaming is more popular than consoles in Europe, but he refuses to believe me. Can anyone (especially euro pc gamers) help me prove him wrong?Colonel_Cool

LOL, ur totally right. PC gaming is better than console gaming. The full functionality of and keyboard and mouse is better than a controller. It is true that console games might be higher rated than PC games, but PC games have a bigger community. It is WAY easier to make maps, mods, other wonderful stuff on the PC. Kids like consoles better because it is easier to setup and everything, whereas the PC you need to care about PC system requirements.

In Russia here, PC gaming is way more popular than console. I think nearly 95% of gamers are PC gamers. Probably because console games are very expensive, one PS2 game is sold for 50$ and not localised, PC game for 10$ and in russian.

Ha ha, this is pretty hilarious. My brother still refuses to believe it even when I showed him all these posts! Can't accept the truth I guess.
