At what resolution you're playing and at what settings (high, very high, AA) ?

I'm sure it's your cpu that's bottlenecking.

i wouldn't use a 4870 with that PSU. Even a 4850 is risky

I am playin on medium , no AA , no hdr to make it better performance. It lags once in a while when koreans attack.

my psu (thermaltake tr2 rx 450watt) is enough to run a 4850.

Stop lying and get a life there is no option such as HDR in Crysis and a HD4850 can run Crysis all high 1680x1050

It actually runs good but i was wondering maybe i could find another card. I play on medium settings , sorry for the HDR part.

I believe Nvidia always better than Ati like Intel owns AMD . hahahahahaha :)

What are the rest of your specs and what resolution do you play at ? As for powersupply your amperage is fine for the hd4850 so its not risky but the 4870/9800gtx won't work since they require 2x6pin connectors and you only have one. You really need to find out the problem now because an old ati radeon x1900 series card could run the game fine on medium at a lower resolution.

My rig; AMD phenom 9600 quad core 2.3 ghz

4 gb ram

320gb seagate hdd

Ati 4850 512mb ddr3

I already patched the crysis game but it lags once in a while.

I play at 1024x... (whatever it is) . Maybe i gotta raise the resolution to get a better performance or play the game on dx9.

Hd 4850 = Run Crysis on high.

Sounds like your CPU, isnt there some bug that kills the game performence with those CPUs?

Your cpu is bottlenecking, but still you should have good framerates on all high at that resolution (I think you meant 1280x1024). The hd4850 handles Crysis' high settings very well.

I get 44 fps on all high no AA at 1280x1024 with E6850 + HD4850 (Catalyst AI disabled): Link 1

48 fps with Catalyst AI set to advanced: Link 2

Define "lags" once in a while???

Better yet run the crysis GPU benchmark and tell what's your average FPS.I think there should be a sticky about what information should be given beofre making a crysis performance help thread!:|

HD 4850 is the BEST gfx card that would work with a 450watt PSU.

Only way to get a better card, is upgrade the PSU.

ok , thanks guys , i just got this psu because it was good price $40 ( thermaltake 450watt) .

I know my gpu should be perfect to run crysis, the thing is i get good fps but it lags once in like 2-3 mins, i cannot describe it why.

My cpu should be perfect too , it is quad core , what is goin on with AMD cpu's ??
