I use to follow computers alot more.  I built one 4 years ago, but then i got a mac and now i miss gaming on a pc.  SO, i want to spend no more $500.  I have a couple questions.  can you put a 1066 cpu in a 1333 mobo?  and so how is this combination.  will the power supply be enough.  will this all fit in my old thermaltak tsunami case?  heres what i got.  Oh and i got a hd already assuming sata is still used.

1. That's a pretty good video card for that price. 2. 750 watts is more than enough. You probably want to scale it down a bit. 3. The memory should work fine, though you may have a slightly off-peak performance due to the speed difference. You may as well pick up an extra 2GB of ram for $7- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227280 4. Your mobo/processor is a nice combination. Don't forget to pick up a DVD drive. If the case is ATX (which my quick google says it is) it will work fine. Also consider a few cheap fans. If you find a few more bucks, look for an X-Fi sound card (not the XtremeAudio) as it will lighten the load off the CPU during big audio sections increasing FPS.

Creative has some very cheap refurbies: http://us.creative.com/shop/shopcategory.asp?category=84& with a pretty standard warranty.

i already have a xifi sond card, dvd drives, case, and hard drive.  what do you mean offpeak issues due to what speed differences and how low in power should i drop it.  can this mobo overclock a good amount and will this micro atx fit in the big tsunami case and it already has like 6 fans.  thanks oh and will this setup play games like call of duty and farcry 2 at full.  and how will it do on crysis?

Not too good, although that really depends on what monitor you'd be using it on. That rig cant take big resolutions at max settings (maybe max at lower settings).

It's a nice build, It should be fine on COD4 and Far cry 2, though, the latter is more strenuous. But please don't build a rig based on crysis, though it will run it on medium-high at 1280x1024. (it's a 8800gt really).

It's not bad, but it could definitely use some work. 1: Graphics card is fine, just make sure you register with XFX to get your lifetime warranty. 2: That power supply is junk. For what you're doing 500w is overkill, the previously suggested Corsair VX450w is more than enough, and is a much higher quality unit. Wattage is not equal to quality, and it's better to have the latter than the former. A 750w power supply might sound better, but if it's less reliable, it really doesn't matter what wattage it is. And power supplies are generally most efficient at around 40-70% load, so to make the most out of a high-efficiency unit, you don't want to go overkill on the wattage. 3: RAM isn't bad, but I'm not a huge fan of OCZ. You don't need DDR2 1066 either, but since that RAM is so cheap, I don't see why not. 4: If you're not overclocking or anything, the motherboard you picked is fine, but if you are going to be tweaking, I'd try to spend a little extra here and get a P45 chipset board. And yes, it will work just fine with that E7200. 5: Great choice on the processor.
