Is This A Good HD TV?

That is the info from the Argos site. Is it good, would it be good for a PS3? Plus what is that in those other things they use where people say 720p and what not? Im sorry if that is a silly question but I dont quite understand HD yet.

Or would I be better going for this one...

They are both complete and utter garbage.  Besides being no name offbrand sets, they offer 600:1 and 900:1 contrast.  That means your blacks are going to look really...grey lol.  A good contrast ratio is going to be around 1200:1 - 1300:1 standard, or 6000:1 - 10000:1 Dynamic.

720p resolution is going to be found most commonly in TV's listing as 1366:768 resolution.  With 1080p being 1920:1080.

Don't buy either.

What do you mean by calibrated/services?

Just a note, these can be trouble.  Maybe I just have really bad luck but my first set had buzzing and other problems like not picking up a source and not turning on.  I exchanged that for another one and it has awful bowing on the sides, a yellow spot in a corner, buzzing, and one time the screen popped, went black, and turned back on.  Now I don't know if I should exchange it for another one which will probably have problems (it really sucks moving these 120 pound behemoths around too) or they suggested I put it towards a crappy LCD which I am not going to settle for.  I am thinking of asking for my money back
