So basically the gist of it is as follows:

- Intel Core i7-860 2.80 GHz

- 8 GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM

- ATI Radeon HD 5770

- 1 TB HDD

- Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

- Intel H57 PCH Chipset

The price is 1200$ CND. There's no monitor and no accessories (keyboard, mouse, etc.). I don't have the time to build a rig so I'm just wondering if this is a fair price for what's in there.

This is from HP right? Then nope. 8GB RAM isn't necessary, I could build a 5870 with that price.

Its overpriced and you can build better. I'd also bet the PSU is rubbish.

just get an ibuypower machine with a good psu and balls gpu in it and replace it.. it saves you a fair bit of money that way actually.

while it wont match building it yorself it really yanks alot of cost out of the straight pre-builts sails. like in same cases it can be a savings of like 100-175 bucks

Hey dude, I'd just go on their website and configure it. You may one more performance considering your budget and you could bump up the CPU and GPU and make sure you have a GOOD power supply.

It was to show that he doesnot need to spend no $1000+ to get nearly the same gaming performance.
