Is Microsoft Flight Simulator a good PC game to get a feel for realistic flying and have good tutorials?

I think it'll be the closest you can get without going into a real simulator

If flying from LA to NY in this game takes as long as a real life flight from LA to NY, then I guess it's pretty realistic. I saw my cousin playing this game and it was amazing how many in-game switches he had to flip just to prepare for take off. Seemed pretty realistic to me. There's suppose to be some kind of online mode where you can fly while others fly as well in the same "cyber-aerospace".

My knowledge of simulators isn't great, but I'm getting into a free sim called Orbiter that tries to emulate space flight realistically. I'm so inexperienced that I've only just learnt how to take off and reach space, but it's pretty tough to learn how to orbit the planet. I need to brush up on some of the theory behind it all, but it's loads of fun so far. Hopefully I'll eventually be able to mission to another planet sometime soon. I know this answer was slightly off-topic, but I do know that there will be some pretty decent simulators out there.

Flight Simulator X is the best there is. If you're looking for a flight game don't hesitate to buy.

Very realistic, and very hard to max out so you need a good PC. It has many mods too, but all of the good ones cost money.
