I'm going to say this throw out norton its a huge pain in the ass. Go with avast or one of the other free ones and combine it with Zone alarm. I'm next to certain that you can get a better dvd drive than that for not all that much more and also do you not like rewriteable drives? Don't know what brand the wireless card is but I'm sure it'll be fine. I don't think I can really fault it any more than that I think you can get cheaper than that but you would have to build it yourself.

I'd get a different motherboard (and lose Norton), if at all possible. The P5N-E just isn't an attractive option any more. Pick up a good P35 motherboard, or a 680i board if you really want to go SLI.

Suggest getting a different mobo. P5N-E as rayvin said, isn't a good choice for a board anymore.

Drop Norton as wel, it kills virus great but its such a resource hogger. You're best off with Kaspersky or NOD32. If not, the free edition of AVG is more than good enough too.

As for your sound card, a waste of money there. Any decent mobo out today with integratedsoundhas about the same quality of the Audigy SE. You either go one step higher and get a Audigy 2/4 atleast or stick with integrated sound.

USB Options
6 x USB 2.0 PORTS (4 REAR + 2 FRONT) AS STANDARD

Memory - 1st Hard Disk
500GB SERIAL ATA II HARD DRIVE WITH 16MB CACHE (7200rpm)

1st CD/DVD Drive

20x Dual Layer LightScribe DVD Writer Ā±R/Ā±RW/RAM

Graphics Card
512MB GEFORCE 8800GT PCI Express + DVI + TV-OUT

Sound Card
Onboard 7.1 Realtek ALC883 High Definition Audio

I've changed the motherboard, soundcard, dvd driveand case. And I've removed norten. Is that better? Also it's Ā£1113 instead of Ā£1230.

Really nice PC! I have heard hat the Asus P35 mobos are a bit dodgy though-maybe look at the Abit IP35 or Gigabyte P35 series?

Looks better yes, but still a subpar mobo. I'm sure you could get a Gigabyte P35-DS3L for a lower price which overclocks better and is a more stable board all around than the P5K.

First of all, you can get everything there for a lot cheaper on newegg and custom build it yourself or get somebody to do it for you. If you don't or can't do that, then what your doing is fine. Secondly, I'm assuming you want a gaming rig, then I highly recommend you get a better HDD, such as a 10k rpm hard drive. This makes quite a bit jump in performance, especially if you have two of them. Like in my PC, I have one hard drive that loads up windows and has my multimedia junk on it, and another hard drive just for programs. This is similar to a RAID-0 build, but IMO, its better, and I get better 3d Mark 06 scores. LCD monitors are also another touchy issue. For example, you need to look at the MS on that monitor, if it is higher than 8, then I recommend you get a lower one (IE: mine is a 2ms from samsung). This simply means the refresh rates. The lower it is, the less blurring you'll get in games. So, if you have a 50 ms monitor, then you'll get a lot of these ghost lines while you do anything fast on your games, such as turning rapidly.

My Rig: QX9650 OC'ed to 4.2GHZ // Corsair Dominator DDR2 1250 4gb // Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Professional // BFG Nvidia 8800 Ultra 768mb OC'ed to 700mhz X2 in SLi // WD 10000 RPM 150gb X2 // Asus Extreme X38 Mobo // Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit // CPU and GPU liquid cooled // Antec TruePower Quattro 1000W // Lian Li Aluminum ATX Full Tower with Acoustic Dampening

I_Sinsear_I

That's one hell of a machine you've got there. Except for one tiny little detail - you can't go SLI on an X38 motherboard. Also, what sort of weird water-cooling setup do you have where you water-cool your CPU and GPU, yet left alone your chipset with actually comes with a water-block on its northbridge?

Or did you just put down the best components you could think of in hopes of impressing(?) us?

if you go on the dell wesbite and go their XPS range theres a Pc with everything you got but with a GTX for around 1089 pounds.
