My Dad is probly one of the coolest Dads to have. He is a gamer like me, and he IS employed lol but he still finds lots of time to play lots of pc games like me. He just got Medieval total war II kingdoms, but he's also plays like every other great game, He's always informed on the latest gaming news.

But the best part is that we can talk about video games which is like so sweet cause all my friends parents don't care about video games, but with my dad we can have like a huge discussion about all sorts of video game related stuff at the dinner table with my brother.

Anyways my dad is totally pwnage and totally a gamer and hes almost 50 and hes plays games just like I do, he doesnt have slow reflexes for fps' or rts' he's just like any other gamer, but a Father and I feel really lucky do have a gamer dad :)

So I was wondering, who else has gamer dads ?

Well, I got a gaming mom, but she's not hardcore. Uh, that sounds kinky. She's into Diablo (1&2) and other RPG games.

I am a dad, my son is 17, and my daughter is 13. I play Counter-Strike Source, Call of Duty 3, Gears of War, Madden NFL 2007 with my son on PC and Xbox360, and I play Burnout Revenge and Super Monkey Ball with my daughter. I've been gaming since 1986, before there was a Nintendo or Super Nintendo. I have alot more fun playing games with my kids, than I do with my own friends! Hehe! It's good to see kids appreciate their parents, good job little dudes! :D

my dad isn't a gamer, but back when i used to live with him, he enjoyed watching me game and used to participate when i played games with puzzles

it would've been cool to have grown up with a gamer dad

if i ever have kids, i hope they turn into gamer geeks so i can play games with them... just my luck though, i'll probably end up having a girl...

of course, the more realistic outcome is that i will not have children, since fleshlights can't get pregnant

I want to get one of these, my gf is in another state going to school right now lol :(

But anyway my mom is kind of a gamer, she played morrowind and liked it(I showed her oblivion and she thought it looked really cool but her computer couldn't run it lol)and the sims 2 and the old adventure sierra games like Quest for glory and king's quest. My dad barely even knows how to use a computer, he's the fishing/hunting type O.o

yeah, I grew up with video games. My Dad bought Snes when it first came out and it was like 400$ but we had all the sweet games and I remember watching my bro and I and my dad pwning up Super Mario Bros.

Then later on with the N64 omg... great days, coming home from school eat super, and spend the rest of the night watching my dad play Legend of Zelda Ocrean of time those were some sweet sweet days.

Then when the ps2 came out we were one of first families to have it, it was like more than 500 bucks and we had it as soon as it came out and I remember we got Oni Musha, and again me, my bro and my dad just spending nights playing it and figuring out all the puzzles together, figuring out how to kill the bosses and everything, it was crazy we were so into it man.

So yeah, I grew up around video games since I can remember and it was all cause of my dad, he's so pwnage.

I'm the only gamer in my family and I'm also the only one who knows how to do anything computer related. I spend most of spare time on the computer (doing programming homework I get from school, not just playing games) and my parents can never understand why I spend so much time on it. They support my ambition to become a programmer, but they don't really understand why I like games so much.

When I get older, I'm going to be a "gamer dad" like you're talking about, I think it would be kick ass to have a mom and dad who understand your passion, it would make life 10x easier.

My dad has his masters in computer science, so I've grown up with games. I remember when I was like 3-4 when the Doom shareware first came out I'd sit on his lap and open all the doors for him while he shot the crap out of everything. He knew like every level by heart and could do it all on the 2nd to highest difficulty (he thought nightmare was dumb). When I got my X-box when I was 12 he played halo co-op with me. We'd have marathon halo runs where we'd see how fast we could beat the campaign.

He doesn't game much anymore but I still do when I can. I tried to get him to play Doom 3 but he doesn't have the reaction anymore =(

My sister used to be really addicted to Diablo 2, so bad that I couldn't even get on the computer most days when I was younger.

My mom can't even send an email much less play a game.

my dad is no longer alive, but he probably got me into gaming on old ataris and the like, he wasn't a huge player of games, we did play space invaders a bit, and he would really be amazed at some of the graphics back in the late 1990s with games. He was the one who helped me play half of my games when I was younger, especially getting the old DOS games to run and all that. I would have really liked to have shown him some of the games today.

Yeah, but he tends to stick to classics like Doom, Starcraft, and Diablo 2. He doesn't like online games unless he's playing with just me. He plays horror/adventure/action games too sometimes, but the aforementioned are his staples compared to Undying, Alice, 7th Guest, etc. There are games we both get excited about like HG:L and SC2, but we tend to talk about games, hardware and other software a lot. The only online game we are excited but wary of is Star Trek Online.

He's long since dead, but I vaguely recall him trying Duck Hunt for the NES once.
I don't think playing one game one time really counts as being a gamer however, so no.

Neither of my parents ever played games. One of my three sisters played (and I think she still does on the rare occasion) however. Primarily older NES/SNES action games and platformers, I know she still has her old Vectrex as well for those that recall early 80's consoles.

My dad is not a gamer, he is 51 and just hurt his back for the second time so he doesn't work anymore. Right now he is trying to get workmans comp. and social security, but the stupid gov. delays everything so that we get more poor everyday. Anyway, taht sounds cool and I wish my dad did play games, as he never really had time to play sports with me and my brother, but now that he has time, we are both in college. oh well.

and it definantly is cool to have a dad that plays games... any dad that doesn't... you will see stressed out.. A LOT ! lol.

I am almost 23 now, my mother and father do not game. They never cared about computers and that kind of stuff. I and my sister have been playing pc games since we got computer in 1998. My sister is 26, has her own computer and still plays. One thing is certain, mine children will have cool gaming dad.
