it is just me or does metal gear solid 4 looks better than any pc game out?

Crysis engine is good but to me the game looks like it'll be crap like Farcry.

What do you find so appealing?  I am not trying to give you any crap by the way, I am only curious.  You dont need to flame another game or post to support your own beleif, so please tell us.

The gameplay in MGS series is totally captivating (to me). The game doesn't let you do the same thing twice, EVER. For example, in MGS2, you find yourself trying to find hidden bombs, then you try to protect a girl using a sniper rifle, then you have to go through a torture subgame, then you have to do a boss fight while some other guy covers you... etc. There are also TONS of boss fights and each one is completely and utterly unique. It is not just about aiming shooting. You have to be very careful with tactics and strategey for each single boss. (You have bosses diving under water, harriers, tanks, death squads... etc) Also the storyline is very captivating. MGS1 had a really deep story about how genes affect our lives, and if people with inferior genes simply have no chance. MGS2 had a very nice story about censorship and the making of history. I never played MGS3 :( Maybe I will buy a PS2 for it :)

Yes, Far Cry does kick ass!

It started off well but then it just turned to crap half way through to the end and i thought it ruiend the whole game.

Have they released any gameplay footage or is it all cut scenes? Because cut scenes tend to look better than the actual game. I haven't been following it but I know 50% of MetalGear games are cutscenes so I just figured chances are, and I haven't seen any game play my self just cutscenes. SoulPsychadelic

if you payed eny attension to metal gear games ud know that the cinamatics they use in game (when youre not playing) is the game engin and graphics. none of there (well most of the) cutscenes are CGI (sept for a few).

Thats exactly what I woulda said. The Harrier is awesome. I can still play through those games now and end up being able to take every room and scenario with a diffrent aproach. Just pure genius.

believe me, when you don't like a game, it is easy to find 48234 small things that annoy you about the game. When you love a game, everything tends to fall together, and you end up loving everything about it, even the annoying small things. So, in summary... games == women??? :P

Metal Gear Solid 4 looks good, but PC gaming will always look better with higher resolutions, upgradable video cards, etc.

i dont know about you guys, but every time i see metal gear solid 4 somewhere i get jealous. i never even played a single metal gear solid game before, but every time i see it, it just looks better than any pc game out or coming out and it pisses me off. anyone else feel the same way?ncderek

Jesus, could have gotten a bigger screen for Crysis.
But no great find I didn't realise there was THAT much detail on the weapons, you can practicaly read the small print.



The amount of details in the Crysis screenshot looks amazing.
