They are blaming piracy for bad sales, but they should blame them self.More and more games don't get a PC version. Yes there is piracy on the PC but there is as much of it on the X360.

What i would do is tone down the requirements. If the X360 can run it flawlessly i don't see why a three year old computer can't. People can't buy a new graphic card every year to play your crappy unoptimized games. This and at least make the games playable on mouse and keyboard and im sure PC games would sell more.

I actually find system reqs to have toned down tremendously lately. How old is an 8800GT? It paired with an original C2D can still max out almost anything nowadays.

YA I would say the Reqs have stayed pretty steady over the past year or more. I remember about 2 1/2 years ago when I went from maxing HL2 to low res low graphic on bf2142 on the same PC.

Let them play the blame piracy game. All it does is make them look like fools and lose sales, if they want to do that then let them. I think its quite funny when devs lose all this money after blaming piracy and wonder why the fanbase doesn't like them.

On my parents computer that has a Q6600 and an 8600 I can max quite a few of todays games and play others like Crysis at med on high resolutions and get decent FPS on it, quite good if you ask me. With better cards such as the 4870 and the 8800 GT like you mentioned PC gaming really isn't as expensive as some might think. I do agree TC, developers can't really point fingers when it comes to piracy, it has to do with the quality of the product, look at games like HL2, and Crysis, they do fine in the sales department and that is because they are good games that are worth the price.

Big deal, people finding a scapegoat excuse, been happening for years with pretty much everything.

Didn't piracy kill the music industry like, 10 years ago? yet there still around.

topic creator is full of win. it seems the only optimized engine around is source, which isnt a bad thing since i love the games that have used it. anyways though, yeah i guess the fact that people are spending so much damn money on new graphics cards that are coming out left and right doesnt give a lot of people who are less fortunate than others the opportunity to buy the software that will utilize their new hardware purchase. long story short: expensive graphics cards are leaving many people without money to buy games, and they turn to downloading torrents.

Crysis devs pointed at piracy and said it was a huge problem and that they're going multiplat, too. Most of the dropping PC versions was done a couple years ago - right now we're on the tail end of a resurgence where a lot of devs have been giving attention to the PC again. They've been looking at piracy in particular for most of this decade, however, and it's sort of a credit to them that everybody kept their mouths shut for 5 years before anybody started complaining about it. It's a problem, yeah. Maybe not THE problem, if there is such a thing.

Look, as long as there is a demand, great games are going to continue coming out for the PC. So what if EA or Microsoft (lol) decides to drop the PC? They can take their blockbusters and shove it down the console fanboy's throat. Some other company who is smarter than EA or Microsoft is going to continue to make good games, and they will reap the benefits.

No, there is not just as much piracy on Xbox 360

No, games don't play flawlessly on the Xbox 360 either. Consoles suffer from performance issues just as PC's can. Multiport games on the PC let people tone the graphics down to equal consoles if performance is an issue, so you can use 3-year-old graphics on a 3-year-old machine to have a playable game.

Yeah, I haven't had to upgrade in almost a year now. Probably won't need to until next year either.

Constant upgrading is what has brought my PC gaming to a near stall, I just got tired of trying to keep up.

These willl be minimun requirementst for Sims 3

* Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
* 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
* 1 GB RAM
* At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content
* 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

And that is why this game will make money thats all I'm sayin.
