And Wow!! Awesome game, easily one of the best shotters this gen. Aside from the graphics this game had it all, interesing story, awesome gameplay, nice levels, good guns and fun online mp.

I dont get why this game is only brought up when talking about graphics because sincerelly this game is much more than that.

Cant wait for Crysis 2 ( when is it coming out?)

What were your thoughs after finishing the game?

Crysis 2's date is still TBA. And if you liked Crysis I recommend buying the Spin-off, Crysis Warhead. It also comes with Crysis Wars which is a substantially better online game than the vanilla Crysis game. I personally think Crysis is one of, if not the, best FPSes on the PC. And in general really.

i agree people just hype the graphics where as it even better in gameplay and intelligent AI which is lacking in many games.

Warhead is a lot shorter than Crysis, and personally I didn't like it as much, it is much more action focussed. It is a lot easier to just run through the levels slaughtering everyone, compared to Crysis where you tended to need to take your time.

If I remember correctly, I clocked Warhead in around 5 hours, can't remember exactly though. To me, there were certain points that were better in Crysis than Warhead, and vice versa. Least there weren't as many annoying helicopters.

You can always take your time in Warhead. Just ignore the radio chatter that makes it seem like you've got to hurry up.

I was pretty pleased with it. While the ice levels were dissapointing, and the online was so-so, the majority of its singleplayer and added sandbox editor were more than redeeming. Its one of the best shooters this generation.. One thing is for sure, its MUCH more progressive than the vast majority of shooters this generation, in design and technicals - which we have to give it credit for.

Enemies feel a lot easier to kill though, so there is less incentive to take your time. xD

I played Crysis on Normal first time, then Hard after that. Same with Warhead, and Normal was substantially easier. Largely due to Auto-pick up of ammo and enemies taking less shots to kill.

Crysis was really amazing gameplay wise i thought. I do like it for the graphics a lot too though. It gives me something to keep building a better pc for at the moment.

My first thoughts after finishing the game for the first time were: "That's it with the aliens?" Seeing how the frozen/alien portions were advertised and shown a lot in previews, I was let down by how underwhelming the experience was. But it didn't stop me from starting a new game right after. Great times with Crysis, for real.

Agree with almost everything you said.. bar the interesting storyline part lol. Very good game and I think the sequel will be even better, provided they tweak a bit of the AI etc and really give this one a good polish. It would be glorious if the AI was more reactive so you could create diversions outside of bases, such as blowing up a truck so they will leave their positions and inspect it.

Really? I did just that in the singleplayer campaign, attacking X location to draw the enemy out, while going around. Though yeah there were some instances where they would stick to their defensive positions.

Hmmm... I like crysis and warhead... altho I do not think it is that special (far cry ruined it for me I guess ^^ )

Crysis clocked in at 9 hours for me

and warhead clocked in at 6 hours for me.

I do like the games, I like the shooting mechanics, and I generally like the game, hate the music tho ^^

Yep, the Korean levels were kinda boring, the aliens levels were way better and the VTOL level (worst level for many) was actually my favorite level in Crysis.

Crysis 2 was JUST unveiled, so it'll be a while. And if you mean about the graphics not RUNNING well, then I agree...but its understandable considering how absolutely AMAZING the higher levels of settings looked. Crysis truly was one of the most amazing shooters this generation. Semi-Open-world, uber-solid gunfights, strong AI, and an interesting story.

I finished it 3 times already. one in normal one in hard and one in delta. The game is great with an ok story. My only problem with crysis is the horrible, horrible, extremely horrible vtol level ( in myt first run of crysis that level made me quit the game for a month )

Crysis warhead is also a great game although the original crysis imo is better. It last about 6-7 hours ( strongly recommend play it at delta difficulty )

another thing for you is essesntial is to visit CRYMOD.com. There are alot of custom levels ( many of wich are conrtain a mission ) to download and some are great ( strongly recommend downloading the Intel mapping contest single player map pack since it contains the best custom levels )

Well people are always barging into the "I Love Far Cry 2' threads and saying that Far Cry 2 sucks, so I'm going to give it back to them, and say that Crysis sucks. I bought the Maximum Edition in May, and I hated it.

The graphics were a serious letdown. I had been expecting SO much more.

And by the way, my computer is brand new, from Alienware, and people, when they see it on my desk, are always asking me to turn it on and show it to them. These are non-gamers, meaning of course that they're completely non-biased about computer games.

So which game makes their eyes light up in fascination? Nope, sorry, it's not your beloved Crysis. Every time... and I mean every time... without fail... the game that makes them react is GTA 4. I show them Crysis first and, honestly, they don't react at all. Here's what's really interesting though: they don't even react to the water, which I thought was the only good part about Crysis's graphics.

But show them GTA 4 and suddenly their faces light up, and they start pointing things out on the screen. Crysis is over-rated. Meh.

I agree bud! The first time i got to play Crysis all teh way thru i was blown away! It just sucked me in with its atmosphere, gameplay and amazing graphics!

Simply one of the best singleplayer FPS of all time imo (Not the best but top 5 for me).

Hands down the best singleplayer FPS this gen imo (along with Stalker).

Yes there are some patches/updates.

Go to google and seach for "Crysis update 1.1" and "Crysis update 1.2" and lastly "Crysis update 1.2.1".

Install them IN THAT ORDER. The patches help performance a bit, along with some of the other bugs.

you got to try a delta play through on crysis its not that hard if you use stealth although personally i don't like doing stealth that much in crysis anymore i try taking a more action approach and utilize cover more and take advantage of the speed mode to rush into to enemies and gun them down with my shotgun.

Exactly, people that see it are non-gamers. and So what if your computer is brand new alienware? Some alienware are expensive but not quite a good build. Frankly, I can build better with price lower than them and performance better than them. Most probably, it's either you're alienware failed in crysis or you're just new to gaming.

Because when u said your PC is brand new alienware, makes me think you're a young kid that sees PC gaming same as a console, FYI it's different, PC is not something you PLUG-N-PLAY and thats it. u probably must learn how hardwares work son. im out.

Have to disagree. Crysis had a horribly buggy final boss fight. Warhead's went smoothly and ended in a nice cutscene, but it was just a matter of shooting the baddie with the plasma gun thing X number of times. Normally boss fights require a certain amount of strategy.

The aliens were pretty one dimensional and boring imo, and it dragged on a bit. On the other hand I love the expression on a korean when you grab him by the throat haha. And cloaking when there's a party of them looking for you only to sneak up and grab one as a meatshield while you knock off a few and then go back to your cloak never seems to get old :P

The avatar or even the boss no-clipping through the floor into a room in the carrier. The helicopter not coming close enough for you to jump in at the end. Could have been done alot better imo.

I didn't experience any of that...and even then calling it "horribly buggy" sounds like a stretch.

Meh.

you need to max up the graphics in order to be impressed , the fact that you said that your PC is new and from Alienware make me feel like you don't know much about PCs ,

You're right. I know nothing about PCs. I've only owned 5 of them in my lifetime. The simple fact is that I've been working with computers since before you were born. My father was an electrical engineer who programmed one of the very first mainframe computers from IBM. I grew up with punch-cards scattered about all over the house. Do you even know what a punch-card is? Do you know what an 8088 chips is? I had one of the first 8088 computers right in my room growing up as a kid, because my dad didn't have any place in the house to put it. When my friends came into my room and saw the computer on my desk they all said the same thing, what's that? And then they would ask, what's it for? Then I would show them a game called Zork, and they wouldn't want to go home. To say that I know nothing about computers is kind of silly. Oh well, if you want to believe that.

Then you simply have a visual impairment. Ok...issue settled lol. Anyways, I have both games and Crysis is more graphically advanced than GTAIV for sure. GTAIV sure is a pretty game though, that I agree. The city is quite amazing.

[QUOTE="kieranb2000"]Crysis 2's date is still TBA. And if you liked Crysis I recommend buying the Spin-off, Crysis Warhead. It also comes with Crysis Wars which is a substantially better online game than the vanilla Crysis game. I personally think Crysis is one of, if not the, best FPSes on the PC. And in general really.neo8888
i agree people just hype the graphics where as it even better in gameplay and intelligent AI which is lacking in many games.

Calling the AI "intelligent" is a major stretch.

the graphics was great, but its not a major issue for me as long as the graphics is good enough to make me engaged in the game.the nano suit was awesome specially in WarHead,Maximum speen was excellent.but i have to say,the game can get boring sometimes.and the loading time was crazy long
