I haven't played Warcraft 3 since it was released many years ago. I've been wanting to play a good rts game for awhile. The main draw for me was playing online vs some people.

I played 6 matches..and of those 6 only 1 person wasn't a complete dick to me. I obviously lost to some people who most likely play this game all day everyday, and I don't mind losing as it only gives me chances to learn.. but the useless things people waste their time typing to me as they're whooping my ass was just pathetic.

I love online play but the immaturity of its population is really sad.

I can agree to that. The meanest, most immature people I've ever met were on battle.net

The games are all still amazing. It is just that 80% of the online community are douchebags. Ironically, I would still recommend getting it. :)

I mostly play the multiplayer portion of RTS' tho.... I just hate those type of communities. I bought RA3, played 1 match and beat the guy, he wouldn't stop being a little crybaby (calling me a hacker) and that was the last time I played online.

The internet is full of sad losers who think their mastery of one miniscule portion of it makes them hot s*#t. Any fool can develop muscle memory through constant repitition.

I have to agree, that's the only reason why I'm afraid to play RTS online now. I mean one time I just built the wrong building in the litterally in the beginning of the match and my whole team start team killing me and typing really negative things about me.

To the OP - I definitely feel you. I just did the exact same thing. Havent played thegame forever. played a few skirmishes to remember how to play. Then played a few games online. I can't believe how immature some of these people are.

If your ever up for a FRIENDLY game, hit me up sometime. name is Dhampirking on wc3.

It + mods makes for a fantastic lan party game. Playing mauls in a group or just rts mode is super fun.

Absolutely, as soon as I figure out how to add friends on that game I will add you or send a friend invite or whatever.

/f(riend) add name

/f m(essage) text

/f l(ist)

These are most of the commands you'll need for B.net friends list.

Also, I suggest you get a few people you know to play with and stock up some good maps.

It's true that a lot of B.Net users are newbs & childish prattles. Most of the people that used to play on it plays on LAN to avoid this kind of problem.
