myth series, mechcommander 1 and 2, abomination, close combat series, commandos series, ground control games, fallout tactics, sudden strike and blitzkrieg games and their sequels, desert rats vs afrika korps and d-day, whole total war series as you already know, stalingrad, soldiers heroes of ww2 and it's successors like men of war and faces of war, full spectrum warrior with it's addon, arena wars and it's remake, joint task force, world in conflict, real warfare games, Endwar by Tom Clancy, Demigod, Theather of War and it's 2 sequels, order of war, any wargame really.. some of them are real-time too like shock force with it's addons, and also tons of games I don't know which were burned by reviews but are actually enjoyable..

Dawn of War 2 is more like the tabletop game, small tactical engagements. You typically only command a handful of squads and these squads only have maybe 3-4 guys in them as Space Marines. Other groups like the Orks have more but not by much.

Personally I recommend Men of War, if you want an epic and deep RTS, you won't find anything better.

Nah on Men of war. I suggest Company of Heroes over it. Both Great games though but I think he might get more of a kick out of COH.

Company of Heroes is much easier to get into and most of its player base isn't Russian.

You should check out King Arthur - The Role Playing War Game. It has combat like TW, with some interesting twists.

COH has a base building system, so it's out of that guys question.

BF0

It's not entirely base-building in the way that you have to keep up with too much resource gathering and such... Mostly tactics and controlling certain strategic points.

Also, you're ugly and your mother dresses you funny.
