My current specs:

PIV 3.0 ghz

1gb ram

X1950 pro 256 (just upgraded from 6800gt)

Basically I am trying to keep this older AGP based system alive for another year before I upgrade to a DX10 quad core system.  What I am wondering, is another gb of ram really going to do anything for me?  Anybody have a good link to a website that pits the same exact system against one with an additional gb of ram and benchmarks them?

 Thanks

More ram is good... not all games will benefit, but I know BF2 loved me for upgrading from 1 to 1.5GB.

Here's one, but that's over a year old so pretty useless unless you don't buy and play many new games. Gamespot did this recently:

It's done with vista (and readyboost) but should still give you a general idea. I'm in a similar situation and also haven't decided yet whether to get the extra ram.. I'm tending towards not getting it as it will be useless once I upgrade and I can still run everything I want to run just fine.

yea getting some extra RAM will help quite abit, adding 1 more Gig and you will see the performance increase.
