The cracks and key gens and stuff usually don't work for online ( does in COD2 for me though :P )

I can understand why people steal games and things, it isn't right, but it seems to be socially accepted now,

apparently I stole my way through college cause hardly any of those ideas were mine.  I stole from my teachers every time they wrote on the board, hell I even stole answers from books and wrote them down on my tests.  Most my teachers encouraged stealing for some reason or another, education is evil.

It's immoral that those that worked, and invested in a project don't get proper compensation for their work, but copying does not equate stealing.  Personally I feel piracy should be treated more as slander and libel laws are.

I think there are instances when bypassing the copyright is permissible. There are also times when it is illegal. In the end, however, if cd-cracking and piracy become pandemic, it's the gamers themselves who will suffer the consequences. Gamers having to bear the responsibility for others' misguided actions is definitely immoral in my opinion.

Most people here know that downloading copyrighted material is against the law in most countries.

But... I guess other posts here have a point, if you are new to the cracking/downloading and such, you sure don't know that gamespot isn't the place for you. That people are looking for Google, not this place.

In my country games are so expensive that downloading or buying a copy (illegal, obvious), are the only options. Venezuela is one of the biggest places where you can buy pirate stuff.

Wow, you have no understanding what a copyright is nor what a bibliography page is.

By law, you are allowed 1 back up copy for own personal use, otherwise its illegal unless the author gives you permission. Piracy is a huge problem around the world and is not limited to software.

Life is too short. Who cares? If you obtain illegal material, you have to be prepared for the consequences. Its not about changing people minds about what they do, its about are they sure they know what they're doing? If you're not a part of this group, spend your time worrying about something else. Let the ignorant wallow in their own filth. Obvious its not our problem, let them figure out the truth about themselves. God is in control of everything!!
