Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning - Control mapping problem

I dont like using W,A,S,D...

I prefer Up, Left, Down, Right Arrows, the 4arrows directly below the END button.

So when I map it to Up, Left, Down, Right Arrows, it takes it, but since the default for camera up, down, left, right default to this, once I go forward the camera goes up. Not good.

So when I try to change the camera controls,I can change them, but then it changes my up, down, left, right controls to match them. WTF?!?

Am I the only one experiencing this? Is there a work-around???

I have having the very same prob as iam also used to play with arrow keys. Wot u can do is assign keys like [ , ] , \ , - to the camera directions keys and then assign the arrow keys to the direction keys. It will work then.

Itried it, but it doesn't work, so lame. Once I go to change the Movement keys, they match (are replaced by) whatever the camera controls are set to. Lame.

Every other game I have played has let me set my keys how I wanted them.

And I don't want to learn how to play with W,A,S,D. :evil:

Arrow guy myself and if the game won't let ya map em I'm not buying it. Sucks cause I want it.

If the game does not allow you to can always trick windows base keyboard to allow WASD. I don't know if it will help as it sounds like the arrow keys are set to something in the game you cannot control but check out a old thread where I helped a member on a WASD to Arrow key issue:

Make sure you are resetting your keybinds to default. Once you have 2 keys bound to the same button, they seem to get stuck together, and won't fix until you reset to default. Then you can bind your camera controls to something really obscure (like Number Pad) and then you can rebind your WASD to arrow keys.

Just make sure if you are rebinding anything to check and make sure something else isn't already bound to that key.

DUDE! You ROCK!

I restored the default keys, set the camera controls to something obscure to make sure they didnt conflict with anything already taken/used.Then I binded the arrow keys and they stuck, played the game and working. Thank you so much!

It took me 10 minutes to figure out how to lockpick (which keyboard control to press)...

It was the right arrow the whole time.

Well thats good news. Thx for the info!

Im shocked ive not heard any mods trying to fix some of the mess they left...Its a good game but some of the areas are just bland..Still like playing from time to time..Its a shame kingdom of alamur 2 couldve been a great game..

I just play with the WASD keys nothing wrong with that.
