I've played a few hours but Im not really liking the story. The combat is fun, and many reviews say combat gets even better with more levels. But I dont think Combat alone can hold a game together for me. Call me spoiled but I like a good yarn as well when playing a game. It just feels very sub-tolkien to me.

It's pretty good... nothing revolutionary or super awesome new, but still fun and good. Combat DOES get better and the story is a pretty good one, nothing special. It plays like an offline MMO.

The lore is very generic. The story has an interesting premise but I'm chasing sidequests - some real gems to be found there. Doesn't help that the first area is the dumbass cute Fable-styIe one.

I should get back on track and do the main quest, I have this bad feeling that I'm getting too powerful.

BTW, the first expansion looks awesome.

I put about 20-25 hours into and dropped it. I was just too bored. I got tired of the walk over to this guy and then walk back to here to get a stupid flower, kill whatever and then come all the way back, rinse repeat. I actually found the side quests to be more interesting than the Main. I actually became a King! And then nothing....Yay, you're the King of the house of stories(or whatever it was) and.....that was it :(

I played maybe 2 hours of it and realised it wasn't my type of game. I absolutely love RPG's like Skyrim, Fallout, Mass Effect, but I just didn't like the style of KoA. I'm still having fun with Skyrim and have over a 100 hours in it.

Yeah, the story and world is pretty generic. After finding out that of R.A. Salvitore was on board and with me not liking his work, I lowered my expectations as a result.

Generic, maybe. Fun, definetly.
