I've been looking far and wide for a good RPG based on the D&D or AD&D rules.
So far I've only found the Baldurs Gate games, the Icewind Dale games and the Neverwinter Nights games, but I feel that those games have a lot of unused potential, so now I'd like to know if there are any better games based on the D&D or AD&D system.
Please help a fellow gamer in need.

Dungeons and Dragons online. :D

I enjoyed it a lot and reached level 8 when the cap was level 10. It's basically AD&D rules with some adjustments. If you like MMOs and D&D it's a win. Not much solo content though.

Knights of The Old Republic uses a D&D-derived combat system.

Doesn't Neverwinter suit you here?

If you get Neverwinter Nights 2 with the Mask of the Betrayer expansion, then I believe you have the greatest Dungeons and Dragons created product in history. Unless a Dungeon Master jumps out of your monitor and gives you a hot dog, or a delicious elf maiden exposes her breasts and wet lips from under your PC table, this is the closest thing to the pen and paper D&D in the world right now :)

(Not that the dmaster or elf thing ever happened in that case anyway hehe)

Check out The Witcher... not sure if it is exactly what you are looking for, but the game is amazing.

There is Dragonshard for a RTS.

There are various older titles, such as Pool of Radiance, either the gold box or the more recent adaptation. There is Eye of the Beholder. There are many other gold boxes such as Champions of Krynn or the savage frontiers. Menzo as well. Birthright was a nice try from Sierra even if not properly developped.

There was also Tower of Doom at the arcade! :)

You can also check Living Greyhawk, they may have variants which may appeal to you even if technically they are supposed to be Real life gaming...they use an international system.

Finally, you can always check Wizard of the Coast website, a thorough search shoulds provide you some other cues which I didn't feel like giving right now. :P

Isn't Neverwinter Nights 2 currently the game with the best implementation of the current AD&D rules?

I have gotten really absorbed in the story and am enjoying it. The battle system is pretty good. Kinda a mix of KOTOR and FFXI's with more emphasis on combos. I really like it thus far ( about 4 hrs in)

Yeah, I agree that Neverwinter Nights 2 is probably the best Dungeons & Dragons adaptation these days. Actually, the Mask of the Betrayer expansion pack is supposedly even better.
