I also like Knights of the Old Republic more.
I was really looking foward to Jade Empire due to the real time combat & the similarites in gameplay with the Knights of the Old Republic series. The Combat was disappointing and like the Thread Kreator said, the game did not have that special "something" that Knights had. I never finished Jade Empire on the Xbox, but I'd like to give the PC Special Edition a shot.
My TOP 3 RPGs:
1. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
2. Jade Empire
3. Fable: The Lost Chapters
Best PC game ever: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Best game ever: Metal Gear Solid
Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one!
To Herrick: I don't own an Xbox so I can't compare the two versions but since the changes are mostly in the gameplay, and they are minimal, if you're going to try out the pc version in hopes that it will be better, you'll probably be dissapointed. The graphics though are fantastic. The atmosphere is beautiful. It has the light glow that Sands of Time had to give it that fairytale look and feel to it. Just think of KOTOR with Sands of Time graphical look to it....OH YEAH.
To HardcoreKiller2: I have tried the first Neverwinter Nights. It was good in the first few hours but then it just got so difficult to me. Maybe I wasn't playing it right but I'd like to give it another shot. I also tried the first Baldurs Gate and I had the same problem. Again, I'd like to try those two again.
To Darth Killer: Your list is looking good!
Hopefully Bioware will straighten up and give Jade Empire the attention it gave KOTOR in a sequel. Here's to hoping....CHEERS!
My top three RPG's of all time would be in this order...
1.) NeverWinter Nights + Expansions
2.) Knights of the Old Republic
3.) Jade Empire Special Edition
The only reason i class KOTOR better is that JESE had obvious console port issues, the menus, the mouse, the movement and camera at times all emphasised a less than complete/good job at porting it to the PC.
