L.A. Noire & Red Dead Redemption. and PC

ok then, i just wanted to ask something i know they arent coming to pc but, is rockstar are intersting in making money or watch it goes away?

i mean look at this. they made millions from red dead redemption on consoles, if they port it to pc in a few working months, they will make millions. sooo...? what is 6 months of porting it to pc? 1 mil? lets say it is 1 million expense... with that you make millions! if you release iton pc. so why the hell not?

please help me understand why not?.

after a while i said what the hell got over it. but now they do it again with L.A. Noire... so i came to realize that the guy that is incharge of rockstar must be a complete douchbag\retard.

the funny part is, pc market made rockstar what it is today, and it is a fact that pc market is the biggest of them all.

i still didnt lose hope since every game rockstar made came to pc eventully (Bully, even Manhunt 2).

so why not port the games even a lousy buggy port will make them alot of money.

Rockstar: L.A Noire won't come to PC cause teh PC can't emulate the Physics hur dur.

Just Cause 2, Mafia II, and I am going to assume Assassins Creed II (even AC1) run better and look better than GTA IV. I know there is a lot going on, but come on! The game is just awfuly coded.

They won't do that . Just like Fable 3 , it won't appear on the PC . Why ? Because of "Robin Hoods" like Skidrow , Fairlight , Reloaded , Razor1911 and others . What about Red Dead Revolver , it was only for Xbox and Playstation 2 .

And I'd love to see RDR on the PC. I liked GTA IV a lot, even if it lacked some of the features present in San Andreas, it still had characters and a story that were a lot more likeable than the whole 'ghetto' vibe SA gave off.

Wasn't Rockstar looking for dx10 and dx11 developers not too long ago? Not sure if that was true or not. I have come to the point where I really don't care anymore. I'm not going to get a console just to play a couple of games I like. millerlight89

Do we know what Engine it's using? if its using R.A.G.E (Rockstar Advance Gaming Engine) then the port won't exist/will be a copy pasta like GTA IV, It would be nice to see it. If I remember I think Team Bondi did confirm a PC port a few months ago going back into 2010, but if Rockstar told them not too is beyond me.

like you said, all previous games made it to pc even when it was denied time and time again beforehand. it really doesn't make sense to have a finished product lying around and not do a relatively small porting job to grab some extra revenues (unless there is an exclusivity contract in place with a greater value). console versions bring in a lot more money so they don't want a pc version to be released simultaneously to interfere with that unfortunately.

so just be patient it's not like there isn't enough games to keep us busy without la noire and red dead ;)

The problem with Rockstars games on the PC isn't that they don't make money or turn a profit on the PC, I know for a fact GTA 4 sold a fair few million and cost the price of a can of coke to port. The problem is that in Rockstars eyes the PC does not make them ENOUGH profit. Why should they "waste" resources bringing their products to the PC when those same resources can be used to bring products to the consoles and they can milk the console crowd for every penny.

Now aside from them thinking they can make more money on the consoles you have both Sony and Microsoft falling over themselves to write cheques to Rockstar to ensure their respective console gets favourable treatment. So with no one offereing Rockstar big cheques to do PC versions and a possibly lower return on their investment on the PC is it any wonder that they don't bother with the PC version.

Personally after the appallingly awful GTA 4 I don't think Rockstar should be allowed anywhere near a PC until they pass a basic college course on programming.

I didn't notice that, maybe becuase i was only playing on 1440 by 900, but i never saw the fps drop below 30 on high if i rember correctly.
