bad time to release it, busy next few months I doubt it will see good sales. I've already played it on PS3 so don't really think I'll be getting it, maybe for very cheap.
I already beat it on the Xbox, but only played one DLC mission before I returned it. Ill probably want to play it again, and go through all the DLC in a few years if there is some sort of GOTY edition I can pick up on the cheap. Hopefully they don't botch the port up too badly.
Its not that good, I played it on PS3 and couldnt be bothered to finish it. Once the novelty wears off from the facial animations, your left with a pretty boring game.
This game is a perfect example to remind me to not put all my attention on the review. The reviews are through the roof and I bought it for PS3. To me, the game was just meh. The graphics and storyline are great, but when attempting to solve the crimes, I felt like my actions had no consequences. Unlike, say Heave Rain, where your actrions had true consquences to the gameplay AND story, LA Noire didn't do it for me. But, thanks Rockstar for the port. Can you give us Red Dead now?

With Heavy Rain I felt the actions changed the gameplay (different levels) but the story was the same all the way through...
I honestly would be more interested in Alan Wake.. IDK what it is about that game, its just the atmosphere, story and the like are captivating that I really haven't seen anything quite like it.

Same here, I've put off buying Alan Wake and even RDR in hopes of a pC version. I don't know how much longer I can't wait before just giving in buying buying wake on 360.
As for LA Noire how similar is it to Heavy Rain? Is the story just as dead with intersting game play atleast?

the gameplay consists of walking around a crime scene until the joypad vibrates. you press a button and he picks up a clue. you rotate the analogue stick to examine the clue. if its relevant the joypad vibrates again and you press a button to read the clue. you compile the clues and use them during the interrogation sequences where you get to respond truth, doubt or lie to witness statements.
and then theres a ton of saints row 2 style driving and a sprinkle of gta iv style clunky shooting.
despite all that it's stylish and well written and i'd still recommend trying it, if you like story based games that is, although id wait for a price drop first
Doesn't have necessarily to be an awful port such as Gta IV, which is still unplayable for me..
Probably goin to be simply the same than in console with minimal texture improvements and differnet graphical options with filtering and higher res improvements...
Didn't get it for console, storyline looks really awesome with that face technology but meh.. i liked mafia II, despite the terribad storyline
I'm going to pick it up when it's cheaper. There are just too many games on the horizon and I lost most of my thoughts and feelings for LA Noire a long time ago. I'm glad it's finally being released on the PC though.

I want to play the Alan Wake they showed in that Intel Video, more than the 360 version.

Not bad but certainly overrated, technically its a fine looking game and the facial stuff is quite good. Clearly though it wasn't worth it when the developer is under new administration. Rockstar clearly had an influence in many areas but not enough. Btw are you sure this is for October, last we heard was Q4 2011?
I played it on the PS3 and thought that it was a great game. Not without its flaws, though. The story was somewhat scatterbrained, the writing was weak here and there (why did Phelps cheat on his wife?), and the player has no ability to influence the outcome of cases (what if you arrested the wrong the person?) I might pick the PC version up for cheap... But not at launch price.
I've already played the game so I won't be picking it up again, but this is mostly good news. The game itself isn't amazing - I loved the last 3-5 hours of it, but quite a few of the earlier sections were dry/nonsensical/repetitive. If you like the era (or murder mysteries in general) then it's worth checking out, but I wouldn't play it expecting really satisfying gameplay or action.
