Got ARMA: CO earlier and had to reinstall the games and DayZ countless times and still either gives a CD key problem, or "Connection failed" ...
Really cute - an unstable mod for an unstable game -_-

omg i'm back after like 5 months..
Well i only got deus ex: hr with all its dlcs + red orchestra 2.
Quite happy with both, specially with ro2. Amazing game, not very big community but i get a whole server list screen with +50 players servers. And as i've seen
there are more ppl like me who got it this summer and are luvin it, so hopefully community grows some :D
I have like 10 bucks in my wallet, i'm crossin fingers for la noire to win the vote, so i can get the complete edition @ 75%. There's not much that draws my attention... uhm batman AC.. ehmm these deals were cool but a bit repetitive.
Update on all my purchases:
I don't why so many people are buy 30+ games... do people wait for sales?... because I bought most of the must haves day 1.
PayPal account is now emptied so I'm done with the sales. I'm happy with the outcome, I only got games I know I will play at some point, although my backlog is rather big (And isn't getting any smaller thanks to The Secret World and soon GW2).

Tropico 4 Bundle - 15,47
Saints Row 3 - 7,49
Trine 2 - 3,24
Splinter Cell: Conviction - 4,99
Dead Island - 10,19
Red Orchestra 2 - 4,99
Total 53,36 euro
Update on all my purchases:
- Bastion

I'm sure we would all love to buy good games day 1, but waiting for sales makes more sense if you're on a budget. It's all about how patient you are, and how big your backlog is. There are plenty of older games still worth playing.
I actually DON'T understand why people would buy games day 1. The difference between 60 dollars and 10 dollars is enough for me to wait 6-7 more months when the sale comes around.Update on all my purchases:

So far this 'seasons' sale I only bought a couple of games, and I may get more but not sure yet.
I bought alot of games during the last Summer Sale and during the last Winter Sale, soo there isn't too many games this time that I will be getting.
What I got was:
Alan Wake Franchise pack - $9.99
Fable III Collection - $12.49
Trine Franchise - $4.99
The First Templar - $6.79
I love Steam!

I never meant I get every game day 1. Just every game that I really want day 1.
I think a lot of people are simply buying games because the prices are low and probably don't want them that much, for example a lot of these games have been around for the past year or more and have had lots of reduction... case in point I bought Witcher 2 for £20 3 months after its launch.
How is it that people can hold on for a whole year to play games that are worth full price yet spend £300 on a GPU is beyond me.
Can someone help me with this. I want to buy the Batman Franchise but it's not available in my region. If I trade for it and activate it on my account will it let me play it ? I don't wanna spend money on something I can't play. Thank you

Well, some people are too busy to keep up with every single sale, so when there's a big sale, it's a good time to spend. Simple as that. Whether or not some people use their money intelligently, that's whole other story.
It's always better to wait for games to drop in price. The only games I buy at full price are games that I do not want to wait any longer to play. It's really not that hard for me to hold on for the big sales with my collection... Besides, the games are just as good , if not better (with patches) if played a year later.

Yeah a lot of people admit they buy to many games just because of a sale. Its all clever marketing. Anyhow day one purchases depend on how much you want something! I couldnt wait to buy Dark Souls for example and the same for the expansion. I have brought Operation Arrowhead ARMA II for Day Z! If i can get it running and if it runs ok on my old rig! :DDo you guys think theres any point in getting Witcher 2 if I couldn't get into Watcher 1? found it too slow and hated the combat. scotty992I wouldn't recommend it if you aren't into the combat system, it's very similar to the first game. The storyline and art direction is waaay better, however.
What are the extra costs that Valve puts onto my purchases, its not regular taxes since in canada its something like 13%
"
ul 20, 2012VALVE SOFT 7.49_V7.78instead of 7.49 they charged 7.78 even though at the purchase menu it says there was no tax. Im only wondering cause I have 12.92 in my account left and im trying to buy fable 3 for 12.49 and now its saying insufficient funds....any help? whats the extra charges for
There's no tax for us Canadians since Valve doesn't have an office in Canada. The prices for all games are USD which is worth a little more than the Canadian dollar so exchange rates come into play. There might also be a exchange rate service charge too. What are the extra costs that Valve puts onto my purchases, its not regular taxes since in canada its something like 13%

I have always been billed the amount that is shown on the Store page, never more. Are you using Paypal by any chance? 'Cause I know Paypal does that when I buy from Gamersgate. What are the extra costs that Valve puts onto my purchases, its not regular taxes since in canada its something like 13%

also if ur using a **** credit card (being a student with no credit rating is great, eh) you'll likely get a charge for an international order and another charge for having to convert currencies and even a charge for daring to use the card at all.

I think I'm pretty much done for the sale. I've picked up: ARMA 2: CO Alan Wake Franchise Sniper Elite V2(actually got it on Amazon download for less than steam's sale. Cheaper and activates on Steam anyway. win-win) Civilization V GOTY Serious Sam 3 Darksiders Super Meat Boy Trine 2 GTA IV + episodes Splinter Cell Conviction Deluxe Legend of Grimrock Psychonauts I spent over $80 but I saved about $244. Yeah that's a fair trade-off in my book. I'm tempted to get Witcher 2 since it's on a flash sale but I currently have it on Xbox 360. Now before anyone jumps down my throat, I got the game on console cause AT THE TIME I couldn't run it on my PC. Plus I just learned the controls on the gamepad and just got a handle of the flow of combat to re-learn again on KB+m...ehh I don't know I got 3 hours to decide I guess. Also was eyeing Fable 3 but I heard it was a shoddy port and I really dislike GFWL, can anyone comment on this? worth it Fable 3+all dlc+TLC for $12.50?Steel_Rain777
Fable 1 is great, Fable 3 is meh, it really dumbs down the game from fable 2. Its a ok game but its pretty much a disappointment from fable 1 and 2. Plus the second half and ending of the game is pretty much garage.
Yay, I got all the Steam Summer Sale achievements. That's like the first time I've ever complete a set. lolflipin_jackassMe too :P
I didn't buy much, since I've got a massive backlog. I did, however, purchase Crysis and Crysis: Warhead. I owned it on a rig I built back in '07 (Crysis, that is), and understandably, the game taxed my 8800GT/Q6600 w/4GB of RAM. Flash forward to today, I'm STILL having a hard time running Warhead on my GSX74, which has a I7 @ 3Ghz a 560GTX (2GB), with 8 GB of RAM. Needless to say, I'm not ammused that the game not only performs poorly, but doesn't look nearly as good as a lot of recently released titles, all of which I have no issues running.
I've given this game a few years and figured that at some point, hardware would mature to the point of being able to run this game as well as a 4 year old game should. Unfortunately, this isn't the case, which simply leads me to believe that the engine for this title is just faulty.

yup i think im finally done. I got
L4D2 , Trine 2, Nation red, Hydropobia, Killing floor, RO2, sanctum, stalker COP, Torchlight, NFS hot pursuit, eye divine cybermancy, hard reset and nexuiz.
Not bad at all considering i only spent around 40 or 50$. Its my first time actually taking part in a steam sale and my first year actually being a pc gamer after being exclusively a console gamer since the dawn of time. You just cant beat those prices though last console game i bought was MP3 so i got all of those games for less than i spent on just MP3 at full price it blows my mind.
For this Summer sale I only bought a couple of games, because I bought alot of games during the last Summer Sale/Winter Sale. So there isn't too many games this time.
What I got was:
Saints Row: The Third Franchise Collection Pack - $13.29
Alan Wake Franchise pack - $9.99
Fable III Collection - $12.49
Trine Franchise - $4.99
The First Templar - $6.79
I love STEAM!
uhh lazy steam guys repeating old deals rather than ending up with astonishing new deals, they could've repeated la noire. People are mad, voted for just cause 2 over la noire and new vegas over alan wake :/
Hope steam wallet doesn't expire, i may save it for dawnguard or other thing after sales but meh.
If anyone has la noire complete edition i can trade bioshock franchise, new vegas ultimate or any combination of ur likeings for it.
Thought i had all the games i wanted from all the other sales i was wrong, damn you Gaben!
My buys:
Wargame European Escalation
Saints Row the Third. (and DLC)
Crusader kings 2 DLC
The Force Unleashed 2 (really regret this)
Kotor
Bioshock 1/2
M&B Napoleonic Wars
Amnesia
GTA Complete Pack
Driver San Francisco
NFS: Hot Pursuit
Fallout 3 GOTY
Raghh why did the community on Steam choose New Vegas to go on offer! Its already been on Offer RAghh! I want Alan Wake.jwsoulI wanted Alan Wake too, but instead I went with Saints Row the Third Franchise Pack for $13.29 - I know it's a good deal I just hope the game is decent. Also bought Bastion for $3.74 Portal 2 for $4.99 And Just Cause 2 for like $3.49 or something like that. I haven't been around for most of the sale so decided this weekend would just hold out for the last day and it turned out to have some good sales but I am mad I missed Alan Wake.
People are mad, voted for just cause 2 over la noire and new vegas over alan wake :/alan_carter
To be fair, LA Noire and Alan Wake had already won other community votes, and I believe both had already been on sale for three times each.
As for the votes themselves...I'm not too surprised that a sandbox shooter and a sandbox RPG won out over an adventure game and a survival horror-shooter. They're all great games, but those genres were always going to win out against most others.
As the Summer Sale comes to an end, I managed to purchase the following items:
As of yet I am very happy with my purchases. :D It wasn't a bad sale, although I kind of wish there was an event or more games went on -75%, but nothing's perfect I guess.
Couldn't resist a few more additions in the last couple of days...
Total War Mega Pack
Amanita Bundle
Splinter Cell Double Agent
Activision Hits Collection (consisting of CoD 1 & 2 & UO, Transformers: War for Cybertron, Singularity, Timeshift, GUN, Prototype, Blur, Vampire: Bloodlines)
Death To Spies Gold
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (digital replacement because my disc version of the game had StarForce - Burn it with FIRE!)
That doesn't even count all the games I bought for my son as well.
My wallet is now officially deceased.
Done for this year's summer sale. Had a whole lot of fun!
Ended up with:
Arx Fatalis
