im looking for a good RPG to play on the pc, after having played through dragon age origins its got me left hungry for more :)

Tho im normally a console player and there are no decent rpgs, (last one was Oblivion)
so ive turned to my pc for a good rpg, im looking for something not too old, something that is build to work on quadcores (ive had games that just wont run smoothly even tho they're like 3 years old, because they werent made forquadcore or something like that)

How old is too old? The majority of good RPG's are older ones such as Baldurs Gate and Fallout. It would also help if you posted your specs.

Dragon Age is the best RPG in my opinion anyways. If you have it for PC i would go mod hunting. Many more hours you can squeeze out of it.

I'd suggest Risen. Great game, and it's pretty recent as well.

- Risen

- The Witcher

- Gothic 1,2 and 3

- Morrowind/Oblivion/Daggerfall

- Daiblo2

- Neverwinter Nights 2

Definatly try Risen and The Witcher, I loved Dragon Age and I enjoyed those two nearly as much.

Torchlight is pretty good if you like diablo type rpg's. Fallout 3 goty edition would be a good buy and will easly kill 70 hours (just remember to come out to shave/shower now and then :P).

Can also recommend the witcher. Mass effect on pc is good also, much better then it is on 360. Of course this depends on how good your pc is!

Limiting yourself to something that's "not too old" is really doing yourself a disservice if you're really looking for the best computer role-playing has to offer. None of the RPGs released in the last 5 or so years or the console age can hold a candle to the older games. Even a a decent game like DA:O pales in comparison to the likes of Fallout, Planescape, Baldur's Gate, Arcanum, Wizardry, Might and Magic, etc, etc, etc...

P.S. All the games I listed work fine on a quad-core and most of them have high resolution patches so they look much better on newer monitors than they would otherwise.

i said not too old because before xbox 360 came out i was a big pc geek and played most if not all good rpgs, tho since xbox ive only been using my pc for browsing the internet and watching stupid clips like 2 girls 1 cup.

But ive bought a thousand euro pc in april but i havent used it yet.
Tho if the game has already been released on the xbox 360 then i will problably already have it on the xbox

thanks for the witcher btw, i have tried to play it, but it isnt supporting quadcore?
I can play call of duty modern warfare 2 on almost max settings, but the witcher is even giving me framerate issues at normal. :s

Also for the guy recommending me diablo 2 and baldurs gate... i used to be incredibly addicted to it, but that was like 10 years ago? tho i dont believe graphics Make the game, i do believe if the graphics are outdated a little too much its not fun anymore ;)
For example i will sometimes play the wii versions of multiplatform games and like it, but playing something from 10 years ago.. nahhh ( i tried to play diablo2 like last year tho and got turned off by graphics)

btw i can advice u people 1 awesome game: Silver (if ur into old games)

They have a hell unleashed patch for Diablo II, which is quite interesting and fun to play. The game is harder than the normal Diablo 2. It has new weapons and bosses. I'd suggest giving that a try if you were a fan of D2. Not sure how old the patch is, so you might have already tried it.
