Well you could start by telling us what kind of games you like and which games you have already played, that way someone doesn't suggest a game you've played or have no interest in due to its genre.

Go for Alan Wake. It's got a Stephen King feel to it.

If you are into action, Sleeping Dogs is good. It's one of those undercover cop stories where the protagonist gets too personally involved in the other side of things.

Heavy Rain if you have a PS3...you'll love it if you like the walking dead series style of gameplay. Some good new games that aren't releated to The Walking Dead are Dark Souls (controller and resolution patch preferred), GW2, and Counter Strike GO.

Well there's Mass Effect 3 if you haven't considered it (though since you've played the first two then you kind of have to finish the fight, unless you died at the end of 2, then eh).

Dead Space 1 and 2 are great fun, but they aren't terribly scary. Alan Wake and Alan Wake's American Nightmare are very fun as well, and both of those series take inspiration from Resident Evil 4. Of course, RE4 is a notoriously terrible port and can't be found on Steam, and RE5 is really only good with a friend unless you enjoy babysitting moron AI that uses all your ammo.

Telltale actually has a pretty good amount of adventure games, Back to the Future is amazing if you love the movies, though not full of hard decisions like The Walking Dead. If you don't have them already then literally any of the following picks can be had on PC or Xbox 360 or PS3, and all are amazing suggestions: Half-Life series (any of them, but I'd start with 1), Portal series, Left 4 Dead series, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Battlefield 3 (if you like multiplayer since the single player sucks), Grand Theft Auto series (mainly from III onwards, IV isn't the best port but with modern hardware it runs well and it got 10's everywhere for a reason, its one of my favorite games this gen), Bioshock, Crysis series (2 gets a lot of hate but its ok, though I'd start with 2 if you want to enjoy it more since it somehow goes backwards from 1 in terms of innovation and variety), Spec Ops: The Line (more for story then gameplay, but gameplay is ok), Max Payne 3 (currently my favorite game this year, and you should definitely play the first two if you can), Deus Ex: Human Revolution (the first is also good but SUPER dated), Fallout series (the first two aren't dated but only for super RPG fans, 3 and New Vegas are easier to get into and they are all amazing games), Amnesia: The Dark Descent (only if you need a good laxative and are ok with playing on the toilet so you don't crap your pants), Hitman series, Splinter Cell series, Saints Row series (2 is a meh port, though its great fun if you like Just Cause), Borderlands (mainly if you have friends to play with, its ok alone but not very deep or varied), and many more but the rest are mainly console exclusives (Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted, Gears of War, etc.)

If you have a PS3, then Demon's Souls and Heavy Rain are some obvious picks if you loved Dark Souls and The Walking Dead, as well as the other obvious big hits (like MGS4, Uncharted series, God of War series). Though I'll assume you do not have one since you didn't mention it, and are looking for PC games so this is a little additional one just in case you do get one or whatever.
