Looking for a new video card.

Hello, just recently one of my video cards shot and is now useless. I was running SLi with Nvidia 8800 GT's. So at the moment, I'm just running a single 8800, and it's working fine, but I want to either A. replace the shot one and go back to running SLi, or B. get a single video card that can outperform both. Now I don't know loads about video cards, so I'd really appreciate anyones opinions on which option you'd find better. I'd really prefer not to peak $400, as the next few months will be a bit tight financially, so anything below that is great. Thanks for any and all assistance that can be offered.

and this is a XXX edition which is factory overclocked :) so u don need to oc manually :)

and it will out perform ur SLI system hands down

Most factory overclocked cards are pointless, especially that one. A 30 mhz overclock amounts to a 4% overclock. In layman's terms, a game that runs at 30 FPS on the original 5850 gets a maximum boost of.... 1.2 frames =.= You can do it yourself and save a bit of cash. The reference clocked 5850 from XFX would suffice.

i would say either go with a 5870 ati (it starts at 405 to 410$ plus shipping) but thats over 400

then i would say go with a 5850 ati (it starts at 300$). it would prolly be the best bet, and more powerful than an 8800gt sli setup. and has dx11

Stick with nvidia never go to ati right now there software/drivers are too damn buggy from reading other forums. Look at the bfg gtx 260 core 216 video card great video card! Just make sure to have the right psu for it cause I didn't and it shuts down on me when I play my games lol getting a new one next month and that will fix that problem.Hekynn

I agree ( for now). Get a 260 for like 180 bucks and use your other 8800 for Physx.....should hold ya out for awhile...

I would buy another 8800 for cheap until Nvidia releases their new chips and prices go down. 8800's in SLI should have no problems playing games until then....
