I know it seems an odd recommendation, but I'll put it out there anyways: Black and White 2. In spite of it being billed as an RTS, the game is just as much a city builder as it is a combat oriented RTS. Aside from that, I can't really think of anything aside from the Stronghold games.

As for RCT...sorry, that's the only game of that style I've played (RCT 3 + Soaked!).

Well for rollercoaster tycoon, theres theme park, a old game, but a lot like it.

Then there is the tycoon series, like prison tycoon, mall tycoon, lemonade tycoon and lots more. Just ask google. ;)

There's the Railroad Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon franchises. City Life is a relatively recent city building title.

The Anno series is great. Anno 1404: Dawn of Discovery is well worth a look.

I haven't played Anno 1404, but Anno 1701 is the best city builder I've played, so I'd say 1404 is better.

well, if you like Caesar, you should check out Impression's Pharaoh and Zeus (my personal favorite).

Railroad Tycoon is more a business sim, involving construction of its business type. all the "tycoon" game would be such nature (restaurant, airport, mall, zoo, prison, movies andetc...)

Sadly, the city builder genre took a near-fatal blow when the developer Impressions Games went under. They made Caesar, Zeus, Pharaoh, and Emperor. They were all excellent city building games.

There have been some since, but they are usually too focused on combat. I haven't checked out some of the most recently released ones (within the past two years or so) so I can't say much about them. But I do really feel that city building is ignored now. Even from Maxis. Sim City 4 came out so long ago, and I love that series and have been patiently waiting for a 5. Until Sim City Societies came out as a supposed "5" but that game was terrible and wasn't even made by Maxis. Bleh!

Oh, can't believe I forgot about that one. That was made by the remnants of Impressions Games... that's a great one as well.
