Wasn't really sure where to put this thread, but i'm just looking for some good demos or benchmarks that i can test my rig on. Just started to get into PC gaming. I ran the crysis demo maxed at 1600x900 and ate it for breakfast. Looking for something with a little higher resolution and newer to test on.

BTW I have and i7 2600 @3.4 ghz GeForce GT530 2gb and 8gb ram.

I've heard some question the GT530. Just want to see what it can do. Thanks for your time.

gt530 is not meant for gaming, far from it. maxed out crysis and ate it for breakfast? Pics or it didn't happen. Anyway to answer your question try 3dmark11 or stone giant, heaven benchmark too if you want

The GT 530 can't even hold water to a GTX 460. You'd be just as good off running a Llano APU over using a GT 530. The resolution you are using isn't the top end of things, so getting a playable frame rate in Crysis on a GT 530 should be doable, but the quality level I'm more then certain would be more of the medium range in settings. Another program would be MSI Kombuster or even doing FurMark to test the GPU. In the end I do hope it runs well enough for your needs, that's all that really matter.s

yeah. i'll try those out. I wish i could see what frame rate i was getting on crysis. As i play it, i see no issues at all maxed. I don't plan on doing heavy graphics gaming anyways, but i would like to know how far it can go. What i have is fine for my needs, i just hear everyone poo pooing the GT530, but i see no issues so far.

You could download Fraps and let that run while you're playing. It'll post your fps in the corner to keep you aware of what you're getting. You can even have it record the fps (I think you push F11, but it's been a while so I'm going from memory).

With 2x AA
and 16 AF

Run the benchmark and post your score.

I highly doubt a gt 530 played crysis maxed out at a decent framerate.

No...not even close to being good. The benchmark should at least give you a playable (avg 25+ fps) at the default settings. Here's a shot of my GTX 570 on the Unigine benchmark.

Now, I'm not saying you can't play games on your GPU. I'm just saying that GPU really isn't designed to handle the workload that most current PC games require to run at a smooth setting. To each their own; maybe you feel the GT 530 gives you good performance, but if you ask me, it's not based on your pic.

I did run it again with direct x10 and almost got 10 fps better. Either way, i wasn't trying to claim it was a high end GPU just that it wasn't as bad as some are saying. My two heaviest games im getting is Elder scrolls and Diablo 3. Outside of that i should be good.

If those are just your 2 games, its fine. Anything more though, you wont get far. Also 12FPS isn't playable, a minimum would be 25-30.

r_displayinfo 1 Put that in the console in crysis by pressing the ` (tilde key). I doubt it's running well.

here my old Geforce 8800GTS 512Mb, Athlon II X3440 CPU, 2GB RAM PC could probably beat a GT 530 Heaven runs OK at 1280x1024 it gets on average 15-30fps with AA And AF set as high as they'll go in DX10 Mode.

Only thing that's missing really is DX11 and some more video RAM would be nicer but really I'm still not complaining.

Cheers

Unigine isn't a good real world stress test.

Download some game demos with built in benchmarks and try those.

The Just Cause 2 and Hard Reset demos have built in benchmarks(all I can think of off the top of my head atm).

Just checked and dirt2 has a demo, there's probably the benchmark included in that, also metro 2033 like somebody said.

Some of Capcom's games have free benchmark versions of them: Street Fighter 4 Benchmark , Resident Evil 5 Benchmark and Lost Planet 2 Benchmark (a real resource hog, especially with DX11). You should be able to download all 3 from FilePlanet.
