ok heres the deal. i have a computer from like 2001 with no upgrades.

in past couple years things are running at higher settings making my computer slower and gets worse every year. right now it's to the point where lags during watching videos where i have run at lowest setting and always have to pause it. and it's a pain

so it's time to get a new one but when i peek around non the crap makes any sence to me.

~i like to my normal stuff like surfing web

~watching movies and videos and stuff online

~i play runescape(one only good game would run on my pc in past)

~i wouldn't mind being able play games on it if i had the option to do so but it's not like it's importation where i shell out extra 1000 bucks for.

~be nice if microsoft word and all that on it already be on it

so any good computer models out there i should take a look at?

i always hear other tell others build your own but the thing is i wouldn't even know where begin with it.

You can pay a bit extra for a better CPU + GPU if you want.

With a thousand dollars, you can get a better CPU than that. You cold get a Phenom 955.

look..this guy doesn't know anything about computers Try ibuypower.com even the lowest rig there will overpower what you have now. I recommend looking for a pc that will be efficient on power. Try looking at bestbuy.com also. Any of those computers that try to be a pc rig will be good enough for your needs

Would say Cpu: phenom ii 955 oc'd to match 965 Gpu: nvidia gtx 460 (cheaper, can't put more than one in mobo tho) or ati hd 6850 or 6870. Wireless card/adapter : pick any. Then pretty much go with what desert python gave you. This'll do everything you want it to and more. For m/kb. just get a cheap one, its only for light stuff.

edit: Tbh, look at pre-builts if your confused, anything with a dual-core would suit your needs. Would recommend a quad so your prepared for the next few years, but post your builds you find (if you decide to go that direction.), so people can give some advice.

:) its cheapers to build it yourself, but for your needs, you won't have to spend 1k to get it either way.
