hey i have the same sony vaio laptop with a better processor(doesnt matter in 3dmark mostly).you could easily get abou 7500 points(which i got) by overclocking to 625\800 or to a perfectly stable 600\800 or 575\800.and hey geordilaforge dont disappoint persons coming with low 3dmark scores by comparing with your old athlon and voltmodded 7900gt(which you did to me).and notebook ati hd 4650 is the same as the desktop hd 4650 with lower clocks.desktop clocks are 600\800 and my clocks are above that.and i use gputool from techpowerup(community technology preview 1) as mostly sony's ati drivers dont work with ati gpu tool.google it and download it.it is the easiest software to overclock.dont go too much as you will mostly get blue screens while loading games.i went upo 750\850 and got 5.8 in vista performance index.but cant play any games simply for fun.600\800 is the safest clock for hd 4650.you should get above 7000 points in 3d mark. and mobility hd 4650 is better than a voltmodded 7900gt
You're taking my statement the wrong way. I know that the 4650 is better than my 7900gt was, which is the point that I was trying to make. That score seemed low for that system, so I directed him to a page that explained how to overclock the card, and told him to watch his temps...hey i have the same sony vaio laptop with a better processor(doesnt matter in 3dmark mostly).you could easily get abou 7500 poins(which i got) by overclocking to 625\800 or to a perfectly stable 600\800 or 575\800.and hey geordilaforge dont disappoint persons coming with low 3dmark scores by comparing with your old athlon and voltmodded 7900gt(which you did to me).and notebook ati hd 4650 is the same as the desktop hd 4650 with lower clocks.desktop clocks are 600800 and my clocks are above that.and use gputool from techpowerup(community technology preview 1) as mostly sony's ati drivers dont work with ati gpu tool.google it and download it.it is the easiest software to overclock.dont go too much as you will mostly get blue screens while loading games.i went upo 750850 and got 5.8 in vista performance index.but cant play any games simplay for fun.600800 is the safest clock for hd 4650.you should get above 7000 points in 3d mark. and mobility hd 4650 is better than a voltmodded 7900gt

What are your idle and load temps when overclocked to 600/800.
I managed to get 550/800 stably and now it says current gpu is 300/600 ... when I game does that change? In idle it says its different.
That sucks about Rivatuner. It wouldn't work for my cards either, and they've been out for quite a while. Is it a Vista or Windows 7 compatibility problem? BTW, sorry if I came across as arrogant or rude. That really wasn't my intention. Just trying to help, like you ;)i was just trying to prove a point and sorry if it had been a little harsh.anyway rivatuner will not work because hd 4650 mobility is not yet supported.all you can do is change brightness and screen res.
