Done downloading, will post my first impressions here.

Damn it was pretty dang good I loved it, I didn't mind the driving, I bet they're trying to go for that. I'm not sure if the older 20th century vehicles had good handling or not.

Optimization was pretty good, completely maxed out on a radeon 5850 1 GB Overclocked, intel core 860, 8 GB DDR3 RAM. but I did experience some really odd slow downs, optimization could be a BIT better but no worries.

It's like a better GTA

Demo was pretty good. Controls could be a lil better for aiming and the driving isn't great, really its not even good. But it is pretty fun. I hope there's a way to disable crosshair in the full game as well. The cross hair is huge. In shooters i always make it as small as possible. Graphics are good game runs great. 50+ fps for the most part.

Just finished the demo. So far so good. Gameplay is great, graphics are good, and very well optimized(I got 30+FPS on high with 16xAF and 4xMSAA), and the game is fun!

Runs good, looks good, controls are wobbly but doable. Overall pretty good. Doesn't change the fact that there's only a 10-15 hour campaign so it's still a bargain bin title as far as I'm concerned.BDK-Soft

If you ask me, it's a better version of GTA IV, but with the Mafia, and amazing optmization.

Can't wait to try it out. Already pre-ordered the game but still want to see what I'm expecting on 28th August :)

Graphics options are good. If you ask me, the optimization is amazing. Don't use the Yougamers check, it's way off. It told me that I could run it on low, yet I ran it maxed out with AA and AF.

Controls are good, crosshair is large yes, but not a gamebreaker.

If you're talking about the number of missions, it's actually the number of chapters (15) with several missions in each

Controls yes are good. Feels like a pc game mouse wise not a console port. They aren't perfect though and as someone mentioned I think the car handling is relative to the big steel boat car models in the game. But basically it's impossible to turn without sliding lolblues35301

And I really hate the 10 minute limit you have free roaming in the demo :P

But I actually learned to drive properly.

If only my converter would work faster :|

I also think it's worth mentioning that you can read Playboy magazines in game...

If your like me games generally take 3x longer than quoted.

If you speed through, you miss half the stuff anyway, take it slow & enjoy.

Anyway, here it is.

Enjoy and watch in HD. it's the playthrough of the first mission, but I skipped through the driving part in the beginning.

Good game but cant see above 85 on metacritic,

me think LA Noire will be better for a 'period-crime-sandbox-game'

I love it!!!

They still have the old features from the first Mafia and I love the way they have every little detail in your house - Drink, eat, look at playboy, change your clothes, play around with the taps and turning lights on and off.

The graphics , to me, are spectacular. The lighting is gorgeous and the amount of detail put in is great! Gunfights are really fun, you get to see lots of crap flying around as you blast your way in the distillery. Too bad the demo has a 10 minute limit for free roam, which is the flaw of the demo. I'm very glad I pre-ordered this.

Im pleasently supprised by the good feedback from the PC gamers. I was sure this would be a rubbish console to PC port. I dont think it will surpass the original though :)

Yes, you can still get ticketed for speeding, crashing etc. :)

But for the manual driving, I haven't seen any in the demo although they MAY have it in the full version.

Did someone's experience game crashes as well? It crashed twice for me in an hour and i had to reboot my system... The game ran great though, pretty solid 60 fps with v sync on. But i had to turn Physx off it totally killed the performance and i have a 480 GTX.
