With the recall of Sandy Bridge until April, I'm wondering when AMD's mainstream bulldozer CPUs are expected to release? By mainstream, I mean having a similar price range as the i5-2500ks or i5-750s ($230ish CAD).

I know the server CPUs are coming around late Q2 or early Q3, and I heard the desktop versions would be coming around the same timeframe. Are these "desktop" CPUs just for high-end users (above $260 price) or will they include mainstream ones as well?

I'm trying to find out the same thing. Though from what i believe the bulldozer mainstream are the high end :) kinda. 4-8 cores . 4 for mainstream, 8 for enthusiast, though being AMD they will probably have great pricing. I'm thinking 250 + for the cpu 150+for great mobo to go with it :) And the ram as far as i know is dual channel. 50+ for a good 4gb set 100+ for a good 8gb set :)

The AM3+ motherboards will come out before the processors, so you can pick those up prior to picking up a bulldozer if you already have an AM3 cpu.

The desktop bulldozers are scheduled for launch in q2 which is April-June. That's as specific as they've gotten.

Yeah, AMD is known for great pricing, but I'm just impatient of waiting. :P I currently have a Core 2 Duo setup and was about to order a i5-2500k rig before the recall occured. Hopefully, AMD would have good pricing and release by April/June since I wanna play Shogun 2 and the Witcher 2 by then.

I would get one of AMD's new processors... If they had SLI support. :P As it is right now, it's Intel who's next for me, as I don't want to have to use hacked drivers to use my 480's :?

Oh well for you... I dislike crossfire or SLI so that is of no consideration to me... Can't wait to see performance out of these badboys now that they get full instruction sets.
