Mass Effect 1 face

PLEASE NO SPOILERS

I am starting up Mass Effect, and call me anal, but son of a gun I have made three people and I hate the way each of them look lol. I made a female that was pretty good looking, but the voice they picked for female is just awful :P. Is their any mods or suggestions you guys have? I just don't want to look at some ugly/annoying character in every scene. AGAIN PLEASE NO SPOILERS.

Haha I probably should. I never even thought about it having the option for a face customization system, but when I found out there was one, I felt lame being the normal guy :P. I think I will just be him anyway haha.

The female voice is a tomboy (and tries way too hard), the male voice is sort of a Clint Eastwood type (you know, the professional, cold, no bull**** guy).

When I hear the female, I hear someone ACTING HERE, DAMMIT. When I hear the male, I hear a professional doing his job.

Play with the default male, no matter how hard you'll try you won't make a better looking one.

Also it's really weird to play with a different character than the canon one IMO.

The delivery of some of MaleShep's lines is so unintentionally hilarious... I swear, I love the games even more for this. :P

What I find really sad, is that my favorite characters I have created come from Tony Hawks Underground :P.

I always felt like anything besides the default shepard looks weird, but that's just me.

MY ME2 guy looks like a monkey.

oh yeah dragon age was alvery bad imho.. beyond the default and 1 or two for the alternate preset's everything else looked BAD

I won a Digital Deluxe Edition of DAO in a character creator contest. I managed to make a Michael Jackson.

Dunno if that speaks about the quality or the *lack* of quality of the character creator though.

Mass Effect has some god awful facial customization. But in ME2 there are codes which will track your Shepard's appearance. Which as a result there's a website that users from the community share their Shepard's appearance codes. Both male and female. I recommend it, some people have created beautiful faces which will save you hours of frustration trying to make the perfect Shepard.

Exactly! Jennifer Hale owns any VG voiceover. She was excellent in KOTOR as Bastilla!

I will admit though that the face editor that comes with Mass Effect is pretty useless. Although I am surprised the OP doesn't like Jennifer Hale's voice. I personally prefer Hale to Meer but then I guess we all have different tastes.

The thing I hate about the Male shepard's face is that all of the eyes look somewhat asian. I dont know if I could do it in ME1 but in ME2 I made my shepard look like me :).

I don't know if the female voice in ME1 is the same as ME2, but in ME2 the female voice actor was far superior to the male.ferret-gamer
