Hey guys, so I finally got around to downloading Mass Effect 2, but I seem to have a problem. After downloading, I tried to open the game, and this is the error I recieved.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Firstly you should verify the integrity of the game files by right clicking on Mass Effect 2 in steam and then select properties. In the box that pops up click on the LOCAL FILES tab then click on the button that says "Verify integrity of game cache". This will make steam check all the files were downloaded properly and any that got corrupted will be redownloaded.

If that doesn't work then try and launch Mass Effect 2 outside of steam. To do this go to the folder you have steam installed. Look for the folder called "steamapps" and open it. Now look for a folder called "common" and open that, in there you should see your Mass Effect 2 install folder. Open the Mass Effect 2 install folder and click on the folder called "Binaries" in there you should see "MassEffect2.exe" try double clicking on that to launch the game and see what happens.

It makes me sad when people dont check FAQs out and google around befor posting, saves OP time and effort, and assures a response will be had.

Because it's a sequel to a singleplayer game that relies on story?...what kinda comment is that? besides it was overall better.
