I am not quite sure what are you trying to achieve with this thread, but okay. To answer your question, I was always intrigued by Mass Effect ever since Bioware announced it, and I've never bashed Mass Effect to any degree. Also, despite them saying it would be for Xbox 360 only, I never had any doubt in my mind it was coming to PC eventually (I even posted a prediction a while back) - I just didn't think it would be this soon.madrocketeer
I just want to see peoples' opinions, I'm not trying to "achieve" anything.

It's quite clear you are trying to start some sort of 20-page flame thread.
Anyone who was bashing Mass effect because it was on consoles instead of the PC is obviously a fanboy and not worth listning to because they havent played the game. Mass Effect being announced for PC doesnt change that fact. So by coming here and addressing a post to those kinds of people, all you are doing is perpetuating the system wars mentality, and honestly I think that forum is where a thread like this belongs.
Anyhow, If you want my opinion then here it is: I have none. I have not played Mass effect but I will definitly pick it up when it is released for the PC. I had no doubt a PC release was coming because *ALL* bioware games show up on the PC eventually. Come back then if you want a real opinion
That said, i'm still looking forward to Dragon Age a whole lot more
What do PC gamers think? Now that Mass Effect is coming to PC do you like it more and bash it less. I remember when many PC gamers took fury over the fact that Bioware's RPG was coming to consoles only. Did you not like the game because of your bias and like it now that it's on PC? Or did you never like it in the first place?Dopemonk736
I have it on the 360. If you search through my post history. You will see that I was extremely upset about the games performance issues. While I said the story was extremely engaging, and made me extremely excited. The loading times, the frame rate issues, the texture pop-ins, etc --- just annoyed me so much that I didn't play any further then the first two main missions.
Now that the PC version is addressing all of this. Yes, I will like it a LOT more. So for me, I don't fit in either of your two categories.
Well for me Mass Effect is the best RPG ever made (before ME it was KOTOR)
I knew it would come for PC, so I didn't buy a 360 (I played it at a friend's). BioWare is now officially the best RPG developer ever. And this proves that BioWare hasn't abandoned the PC (BioWare always listens to the people and I know a LOT of people are happy). I just didn't except it so soon. Well, I'm 100% certain ME will be 10 times better on PC (because of mods, mouse+keyboard, patches, graphics etc.).
The weird thing is 360 gamers are acting like they didn't expect it (I mean BioWare started on PC and everyone of their games have been made for PC), while almost every PC gamer knew this would happen
Some of them acted the same way when Gears came to the PC. Apparently they didn't understand the word "inevitable". I can understand why some people are surprised here though. They probably bought into that "Mass Effect will not come to the PC until the Trilogy is complete on the Xbox 360" damage control from when the PC Gamer article about it being on the PC was going to be released.Well for me Mass Effect is the best RPG ever made (before ME it was KOTOR)

For some reason people don't like it when more people have an opportunity to enjoy something that was previously exclusive to their system. Some PC gamers are that way too, but anyway I just think it's kinda weird to act like an exclusive title losing its exclusivity is a huge deal. Like you can't enjoy the game as much because people can play it on another system... kinda weird.
It's always the same, since bioware usualy make PC rpgs, most of there fans are on the PC, so when they make a game for Consoles only it angers them, which is to no suprise, like when Epic made 2 UT championsips for consoles only, that angered me since i'm a big fan of UT games, but i still think it should of just been multiplatform from the start, but i'll defintley be picking it up once it hits the shelves, and i pretty much guarentee so will every other bioware fans!Kusimekaa
Kotor, Jade Empire, Mass effect. It's a long time since Bioware was a PC-only developer. Time to realize that, folks, and move on...
i always knew is going to come to pc, so whatvere my stance was is not going to change. i was not very impressed by the game edit : i would say it was good but playing it made me feel that bioware's games have gradually decreased in quality. but yeah, Dragon age is going to be awesome :D

Have you actually played it?
What PC gamers bash Mass Effect? I had a feeling since it was first announced that it would be on PC soon after being released on 360. I even considered for a time getting a 360 to play it. Luckily EA announced the release of the PC version soon enough to prevent that from happening.
Sadly, knowing Lucasarts we probably won't be getting KotOR III because they think we don't buy our games but I must say, Mass Effect seems like a great alternative... I really don't like playing as a Jedi anymore anyways, too many games with it already.

Yeah, but Bioware is working on some project with Lucasarts. Let's assume (wishful thinking) that it's Kotor 3. Given the track record of BW, the game will come out on PC eventually. Or is it up to Lucasarts alone since they will be the publisher (I think...)? If so, sucks for PC-only gamers. But that's the reality of having just one platform. Although I seriously doubt that LA are dumb enough to skip the PC-platform.

yup, but not the full game because i had to borrow my friend's 360 and the game didn't seemed worth all that trouble (he was constantly bickering) . but when its on the pc i will most probably buy it to complete the game

Well, it's either KOTOR 3 or KOTOR MMO (hope it's K3) , but either way it's coming to PC (K1 & 2 were for PC so they won't skip K3)

i also think any of these will come to pc mostly because it will be made by some other studio and not lucas arts

The main missions, especially at the end of the game are an essential part of what makes the game so freaking great. Half way through the game, I was actually a little annoyed by the grinding on various planets and quite bored at times. ME can be repetitive as hell. If you have not played through the last couple of planets, I understand your sceptisism, but I'd wait with the critique 'til you finish the game.
Boy, some of the storyparts sure made up for all the flaws this game has.
I liked it when it came out on console and I doubt that will change now being on pc. It was easily the best rpg last year. If someone hated on the game for being on console then those persons are declared silly.EndersAresI agree.
Anyway, if anything I remember people making threads here about wishing that it was coming to the PC and in threads where the TC asked "what is the one game you would want from the consoles?" people overwhelmingly said Mass Effect.

The story is better in ME, probably one of the best in a videogame ever (I'm a sci fi enthusiast, so take my opinion with a pinch of salt). Although I don't know if the game overall is better than Kotor. I have one advice, just grind through the boring side-missions, it will be worth it in the end. Or even better, skip them... (If you don't care about getting to level 50.)
I really hope Bioware sticks up for their PC-fans if they make Kotor 3. Even if it sells 700.000 copies, that's more than enough to justify a port.

it was a reptititiveness that killed the game for me. although i am going to play it again on pc, the thought of going through some of these mission really turns me off
And with Lucasarts logic, if they sell 700,000 copies and 7,000,000 are pirated, that would definitely not be worth it... because they "lost" 350,000,000 dollars in sales and only got 35,000,000.foxhound_fox
here we go!
The piracy boogey man. OOooooOOooooOOOooo
I guess lucas arts isnt pushing any games on consoles since they are complaining about piracy as well. Nintendo quotes their losses at close to a billion dollars
