I can run it, not that I was ever worried. I think it will look betetr for sure compared to the 360 version, but I am looking forward to the keyboard/mouse more than anything. I have gotten used to console controls more and more, but the keyboard/mouse still is the ebst choice IMO. Not to mention thta this puts off my need for a 360 right now.

I'm guessing it'll be able to play fine, but you'll have to play the game to find out. I'd advise you upgrade, though, as your processor is holding back your videocard.

well that's a pleasnt suprise. i'll add that to the list of games i can run. very reasonable compared to most games coming out these days. i'm not sure i beleive the 2.6ghz reccomended processor. that just rediculous. games were asking for higher than that 3 years ago.

AMD Athlon X2 4000+(might turn that to aAMD Athlon X2 4600), 1 GB of RAM(soon to be 2 GB of RAM) and a radeon x1950 Pro? yeah, you should be fine, if those system requirements are accurate. you'd do well to get that ram upgrade.

Let's just hope the game doesn't have the framerate and texture pop-in issues it did on the 360.

I wouldn't count on it. Unless Bioware worked wonders with the port, I think even the most extreme systems will occasionally experience performance issues. Let's just hope they do as good of a job as they did with KOTOR.

well, with the info that's available, it sounds like you should be able to run it medium-high at the least. i mean, everything you have (with the ram upgrade) is way above the minimum and meets the recommended (especially if you get the x2 4600) pretty much. i wouldn't lose much sleep over it. but we'll see.

Oh hell yes, I will be able to run it. But by the time it comes out I might have a new computer anyways... so now it doesn't matter. :)

Well, that's not very specific... Intel and AMD what? P4 and A64? I would think not, a 2GHz A64 is about as good as a 3.5-3.6GHz P4. But I was under the impression the Phenoms got less processing power per clock cycle than the C2D's, which would mean the AMD clock speed needed should be higher than the Intel one. So I'm really not sure what they're referring to.

actually, i just looked up other games' system requirements, and the one the op listed is pretty much on par with games like cod4 and gears of war and so forth.

for gears of war, the requirements are intel 2.4, amd 2.0; for cod4, it's p4 2.4 and amd 64 2800 (1.8, i believe). so it seems reasonable that the 2.4 and 2.0 for mass effect is referring to intel p4 and amd 64.

so zerosaber456, if those system requirements are right, then i'd imagine your rig should be able to run it on high if you get that extra gig of ram.

Pretty much the same required specs for all the Unreal 3 powered games out there. Nice to see the consistency for games using the engine, keeps things nice and simple for Epic and their partners.

Surely that would be a single core though so if you had a dual core at that same speed you would be alright still.

Mass Effect didn't seem like a CPU heavy game at all on the 360, it was more graphics that I would think be an issue.

Speeds dont matter a squeek.Every different generation of CPU has different efficiency.
