Sorry Im comparing an action RPG with an action adventure here :P.. but anyways

Which do you think won in the first part.. Mass Effect or Assassin's Creed

Which do you think will eventually win out .. ? Both the stories are so amazing Im myself confused.

As characters, do u like Shepherd more or Altair ?

:)

Mass Effect undeniably one the first part. Second part looks to be leaning towards Mass Effect too. And overall, I think ME will give a more satisfying conclusion to its story than AC will.

I think it was a tie between the first games, both had huge flaws and huge qualities.

For the second, I think AC will be better.

I think ME will win though, especially because of that save game gimmick.

I don't know how we could compare the characters, since Shephard acts as you want. He's sexier than Altair:P, but I think Ezio looks better.

ME wipes the floor with a game that fails at being a stealth or action or open world game. (Seriously, there is nothing to do in the world, the stealth is horrible, and the combat system is just plain awful...)

I'm not a huge Mass Effect fan and I've yet to play through my copy. From what I hear Assassins Creed is supposed to be as bad as FarCry2 in repetition which has scared me off even a $5 purchase.

AC is better. I have the first Mass Effect in front of me, and in all honesty it need improvement. ME2 looks great, however, and it looks to have improved even more from the first game. Plus the choices carrying over sounds HAWSOME!

Assassins Creed does not even come close, the only thing that makes that game even worth talking about is the free running, which is limited at first and gets really repetitive after a while. Mass Effect is a great game that is only brought down by its horrible off-world side quests, it is still a great game in all means, with a great story, dialogue, and an interesting combat system, and I'm pretty sure the Mass Effect trilogy will beat the Assassins Creed trilogy, even though AC II looks good.

Mass Effect without reservation.

Not many developers can do what Bioware did with Mass Effect: cutscenes & cinematics were all in-engine, and were without flaw.

Not to mention the facial animation was great, and you can't top the voiceovers.

Mass Effect is infinitely better than Assassin's Creed. Assassin's Creed was fun - it was very interesting being able to jump around and be so agile - but the story sucked for the most part, and the gameplay got really repetitive.

Personally , it's not about the number of mission combinations, but the fact that each of the major game play missions should have a uniquely designed structure and not a combinations of various side missions and. these side missions can be as separate mini games kind -a like prototype

Well, every AC2 mission is different, though they fall in one of the 16 archetypes. Kinda like in GTA.

Ubisoft isn't taking enough chances with Assassins Creed.

AC 2 shouldn't be set during the renaissance, that's just too similar to the first game. It should have been set during the french revolution or even as late as world war 1 or 2.

But what Ubisoft really needs to do to make this franchise one to be remembered, is for the final game, have Desmond escape the facility, and voila, modern Assassins Creed with sort of a Jason Bourne feel to it. That's the only real way they can end the franchise.

The Saboteur looks like Assassin's Creed in WW2, and Conviction is the Bourne game:P

I wouldn't like a modern AC. I think guns would ruin it (and The Saboteur looks like ass).

pffft, Mass Effect wins in every way imaginable. AC was fun for 5 hours or so, but after that playing it became a chore. ME was just amazing from start to finish, and the sequel looks to be even better.

AC just does not compare even though they are different genres. I had to force myself to play AC to the point where it was more like work than enjoyment, just bland and repetitive.

The saboteur looks horrible, but a really polished, modern AC could be amazing. You would still have a knife of course but you could also have a silenced pistol and sniper rifle etc...

This trailer for AC2 had a gun in it anyway.

Maybe I've pretty low expectations but I really did enjoy every minute that I spent on Assassin's Creed. The "medieval' world felt Very good and alive, I love wondering the streets and just look at people and the world design itself is eye-candy. Cant get over climbing anywhere and yea, while the side missions are repetitive, I enjoyed doing it. It has a nice engaging story, nicely voiced characters, the sound effects, the animation are fluid and i love getting into fights and performing the counter-combat reactions etc etc. I love everything about the game. lol. I cant give preference between Mass Effect and AC coz I enjoyed them both. So now that we are going to receive both sequals, I really have nothing to complain at all.

I didn't really like Mass Effect. Maybe because I love Star Wars too much and am a bit critical of up and coming Spacey RPG's.

Assassin's Creed was fun, but I thought it didn't look as great as Mass Effect. Still, stealth assassinating people is awesome.

Can't say about the sequels but definitely Assassins Creed.

In Mass effect the combat was sloppy, the Role Playing wasn't very good it felt like there is no weight to your leveling. And everyone keeps saying like the story is the next Star Wars or something but it's not...Most of the backround behind the world was pure **** i mean i laughed at how bad it was. And almost none of the sidequests was original, they were borrowed from Kotor or even Newerwinter Nights. I could go on but whatever.

Thought of making it a poll... but then realised i wanted to know the reasoning behind evryone's votes :)... for example the major grudge against AC is that its so repitative.

Moreover I think Ubisoft really took the "repitative" nature to heart. AC 2 will have 16 different missions .. shud be exiting.

Another factor, when half the story of AC 1 was complete it was obvious that Al Mualim was playing around.. whereas the twist at the end of Mass Effect story just before the Citadel is attacked is pretty kewl.

We won't know until they release Assassin's Creed II. That was probably their plan. They're seeing how people react in using a "gun" in gameplay, to help with the decision of ACIII.

Both games have revolutionary aesthetics and great combat systems. However Mass Effect is is so different from Assassin's Creed they're virtually incomparable. However if I had to choose Assassin's Creed is better. Assassin's Creed might not have miscellaneous quests and missions, but at least that one takes longer than five minutes. It's actually quite saddening how Mass Effect, the revolutionary and near ingenious game was ripped down by screwing up in two fundamental concepts, Story length, and quantity of miscellaneous missions. It could've been something. Something big.

Assassisn Creed = 6/10

Looks like Mass Effect will be king (:
