A lot of topics about Max Payne 3 a while ago. Haven't followed the game at all. Watched the trailer yesterday and it looked pretty good.

I own the original for PS2, last time I played it was in 2002, only recollection of the game is a nightmare maze level.

Never played number 2.

I recently played through Max Payne 2 for the first time, and really enjoyed it. I recommend it.

Definitely, it actually aged much better on PC then on consoles. The graphics for 1 are a bit "meh", but 2 actually looks surprisingly beautiful and has a complex physics engine that makes murder quite fun. I think the first has a more interesting narrative though, but either way you should play both.

Here's a tip though, Max Payne 1 has sound issues with Windows 7, so you'll need to install a custom patch.

You should absolutely play them. While 1 hasnt aged very well, number 2 is still very pretty on the PC. It was the first game with true free physics IIRC (knocking over chairs and boxes, etc).

Definitely play the PC versions. Its a shame that people missed out them because these are two of the best third person action games of all time. Few modern games can match their slickness.

I just finished MP2 2 days ago, and i was surprised how great it looks, considering it's a 9 year old game.

Ofcourse it's worth it, the trilogy is a continuous story.

It would be a shame for you to taint your opinion on those games by playing the console version, they are horrible ports.

You should play the PC version, that's were they have aged incredibly well. Max Payne 1 looks good & crisp at max. settings and the shooting mechanics are solid, satisfying, and hella fun, though the game can get bone breaking hard in some sections. The story is dark and very interesting.

Max Payne 2 looks far better, it's also much easier and the bullet time is more entertaining to use. It doesn't have a story as good as in the first one, but it still is a worthy sequel.
