Minecraft is crap-over-rated piece of crap!

So in short you're complaining about graphics and how you bought a game you don't like at all. Makes perfect sense more or less, what doesn't make sense is how you managed to buy this game that almost punched you in the face with the kind of gameplay and graphics it has before pressing the purchase button.

There's been numerous reviews of the game and you just now found out the graphics are bad and the gameplay isn't to your tastes?

I actually agree with this topic, Minecraft suffers from the 'try and do many things at once' school of game designing. It has horrible programmer art, boring as sin combat, not to mention the developer is a fat, lazy prick that barely releases updates and slanders people.

Oh and low resolution graphics aren't a excuse for horrible graphics. Many texture packs such as Painterly and Doku do wonders with a limited resolution.

Nice way to insult those that like Minecraft, I am 40 and I love Minecraft, it isn't perfect and a lot could be done to improve the game but in it's current state it is one of the most unique games out there. Now if you can't see that and you don't enjoy Minecraft that is fine but don't insult those that do. Firstly Minecraft is an indie game developed by 1 person, what were you expecting ? There is no way an indie game like Minecraft was ever going to have Crysis level graphics. Secondly I partially agree with you that the default textures that come with the game are not great. However they are like that for a reason, the 8 x 8 textures are there to make the game accessible to EVERYONE that has a PC. Thirdly you should have invested a bit of time investigating texture packs that are easily installable in Minecraft (it was done that way). There are plenty of texture packs available that completely alter the look of Minecraft. I myself use the Sphax BD texture pack which comes in 128 x 128 size and radically improves over Mincrafts textures.

Secondly, the gameplay, utter garbage, boring, tedious, and there is no instructions on how to start. You have to rely on internet forums to get you started. That's bloody retarded. The game is an open world exploration survival game, it is specifically designed to allow you to DISCOVER stuff. I appreciate this is a novel thing in this day and age when games quite literally play themselves and don't for one second feel the need for gamers to actually use their brains. The fact you state the core objective is to build crap shows you have completely missed the point of the game. The core objective of Minecraft is for you to explore and survive in it and if you feel like it engineer a scenario where you will be able to kill the big boss in the enderworld. There is no story in Minecraft because you are meant to make the story, you are the story. I am sure for Minecraft 2 Mojang will take your recommendations on board and do a story involving Russian terrorists doing bad crap and you are a big badass marine there to save the world again.

Why in the world would you buy a game like minecraft if you're so focused on graphics? I'm not saying that your focus on graphics is wrong but seriously... that would be like buying Crysis and complaining about the lack of base building. You go out to buy a game that is completely and utterly in conflict with what you like in a game and then you rush to an internet message board complaining about how horrible it is that this game wasn't build with your personal preferences in mind? If you go sit down in a vegetarian restaurant, don't complain if there's no beef on the menu.

Anyways, it's pretty clear that you've missed the whole point of the game. It's the same thing that makes games like Little Big Planet appealing. It gives people an easy, accessible way to play, shape and build in their own little world. I guess you could also complain that Lego's have worse 'graphics' than GI Joe's, but you'd look like someone who missed the whole point of playing in the first place.

I think it's amazing, there's proof in the fact that I run two servers for it, people love Minecraft, it's a phenomenon, and you can either join in the party or sit alone not playing, your call!

And saying you don't like the idea of building crap? Join a server, there are like.. 10,000 servers and all of them are different, some have questing and stories for you to follow

I do agree, it is really boring. Also garrysmod is better because you can do mostly the same things, just better. I also don't like people who play it(minecraft that is).
