Its not usually recommended. When troubleshooting any problem, its best to have two of the exact same ram in dual channel mode just so you know its probably not that. I can see how some ram might have slower or faster cas timings and that might somehow cause a conflitct? I dont know.

Yes. Now there is no guarantee that a non matched set of ram will run in dual channel, I would say there is a 99.9% chance they will work just fine though.
I have mixed different brands, sizes, and speeds and everytime, motherboard permitting, was able to run dual channel just fine.

A RAM with different timings can always be manually adjusted easily from the BIOS. So it isn't a big deal.
i dont think that theres any motherboard which can support sdr and ddr1 in the same time. Each type has its own lay-out. Or did i get your question wrongly ??
