I didn't see these posted elsewhere in the PC forums, so here we are:
Pretty handsome looking game.

^^ Graphics is the least of my worries in teh new elderscrolls game bud.
As long as they make it a good rpg that is fun to play I will be happy.
Graphics are the least of my worries in a game to be honest.
I sitll find Daggerfall and Morrowidn fun and they sure dont look that godo graphically.

I did "watch" them and I still disagree. Not disappointed at all. Very cool environments with a unique flavor.
"unique flavor"? Those pic to me look like an updated version of oblivion. So much for the new engine. Textures and vegetation look extremely similar. I am dissapointed, i expected for better graphics.[QUOTE="dos4gw82"][QUOTE="dakan45"]

You go off about Rage graphics (game is not out yet) and you go off about the new elderscrolls graphics (game is not out yet). What if those games have just amazing gameplay and everything else is top notch? Do graphics really matter that much? I mean sure everyone can be picky and say certain things in some games look bad graphically.
I am more into the stuff they are fixing and improving frmo Oblivion such as teh rpg elements, leveling up,etc.. graphics are least of my worries guess that is why.

As for graphics: It's a multiplat, and a good looking one. Were you really expecting a Dx11-powered Crysis Killer?

Well, EXCUSEEEE me for being the only one in the pc forum who got tired of see new games coming out with weak graphics and not praising them like they are actually great and utilize the pc hardware well. But what i am even arguing about, in this forum, peple wont even admit that dragon age and stalker look dated. Also those are screenshots, i am commenting on what i see. I have not seen any gameplay."unique flavor"? Those pic to me look like an updated version of oblivion. So much for the new engine. Textures and vegetation look extremely similar. Nice job on picking a screenshot taht is from far away and you cant see the similarities with oblivion. New engine my ass, its an updated oblivion engine. Also, you cant be serious with the expecting a "Dx11-powered Crysis Killer?" comment.
NO, i was expecting something that actually looks impressive, like it has great graphics and not an updated version of oblivion.

Dakan, if you want top of the line graphics, go to the Nvidia or ATI site. Download their tech demos, run them, and stare at them for hours. I hope that makes you feel really content. Then again, you could always come to the realization that more and more PC gamers these days could give a rat's behind about high-end shaders, textures, tessellation, etc. These things are nice, no doubt, but presentation and style are incredibly more important. It looks good, up to standards. Why do people expect any better while we're still in this generation?

in this forum, peple wont even admit that dragon age and stalker look dated. .Thats because everyone has differnt opinions bud.... there is nothing wrong with people thinking Stalker is a great looking game, me personally I think Stalker looks great and even better wit the COMPLETE MODS.
Looks like hundreds of hours of adventure is in store!
It looks good, I'm more interested in character models. Especially Khajit and Argonian. In Morrowind, they had cat-like leg structures and walking. I hope they do again, it will make them look better I think! :)

do i sense some hesitation to talk about dragon age? Or you wont even give me that and say that dragon age looked fine?
You'd never know how many times this has crossed my mind.dos4gw82
Yet you continue to argue with me. Usually because its me not because someone else doesnt saying what i am saying. Like 3 people in this very thread!!!
Artistically, these shots look nice, but technically, they are very underwhelming. It looks like an Oblivion mod. .Brendissimo35
Be carefull, you are in danger of confused for a graphics extremist just because you wanted the game to look graphically "impressive" and you though they were techinically underwhelming and looked like an oblivion mod just like i was
Looks like distant lands is no longer a blurry mess (like in Oblivion) & I liked the art style.
Hopefully it will look a little sharper though.

this is incredibly disappointing, at least from a technical level. Looks like a modded Oblivion engine.

Thank you i thought there was somethng wrong with my eyes, but its good to now there are other people who can see the similarities with oblivion. Terchnically speaking, the graphics aint far from from the previous games on gamebryo engine. Infact i find hard to believe they use a new engine.Graphics are better, though not much an improvement over all.KHAndAnimeI agree. It doesn't matter much to me because I will probably play the game for hundreds of hours anyways, but just look at the waterfall in the pic Dakan posted. It's ****
is that it? it doesnt look ugly or anything but its hardly a massive upgrade from oblivion. its better looking but...well why are they making their own engine? it looks like gamebyro. oh yeah....try and keep the bug count sane probably :P (though in fairness oblivion was pretty solid compared to morrowind and daggerfall in terms of bugs). still looking forward to the game though.osan0Another one agreed with me. Also, this looks so much like gamebryo that i fear it will work the same way with the same flaws, eg: stuttering.

But am i seriously the only one who can see that the game is hardly on par with current graphical standards? Same case with rage.guynamedbilly

The screenshots certainly look better than Oblivion, but not the leaps and bounds i imagined they'd be. As long as the gameplay is improved though the graphics will hold up. I just hope though that the game itself feels different enough to Oblivion that I'm not reminded of it every five seconds.
Why? Do you think that Carmack suddenly decided to remove the one aspect of the engine he wanted to show off? I believe we can safely talk about what Rage is doing and nothing else is. They sacrificed fidelity on the altar of unlimited variety. Is there anything wrong with that?
Actually.... its more like they sacrificed texture quality along with other things like prebaked shadows in order to achieve 60 fps on consoles. Also Yes carmack suddenly decided to remove alot from the game in order to fit to x360 disk. So the game is now smaller. But he says not smaller, they just managed to make it fit in the disk. I wonder how they did that...... :D Yeah thats how. Anyway that was not my point. My point is that we shouldnt discuss the amount of textures when we have not seen the game yet. Personally, its just making the disk size bigger rather improving the actual graphics. Still better than things like say fear that have the same stuff all over. Why? What a lot of people seem to forget is that this game is many months away from release, and these are some of the earliest screenshots we are getting. That being said, I have no complaints with the graphics thus far. I do however hope that the animations are leaps and bounds better than oblivion. For me, good animation means much deeper immersion. The opposite hold true for clunky, unrealistic animation(oblivion, fallout 3, etc.).
TL;DR - Months away from release, graphics look good, hope animation quality isn't terrible like Oblivion.
Three of those pictures look like Oblivion with some nice visual mods applied. The third one is the exception, but it still looks "pretty standard" for a game of today.
Still, the graphics of Oblivion were the last thing that needed improving. From what I've heard, they fixed some of the gameplay/writing issues, but they also brought in new ones (also, the trailer was cheesier than an 80s action flick). This is still tentative for me.
