monitor drivers? is there a point to installing them?

just got a new monitor, it came with a driver install cd. is there a point to installing it?

You monitor is recognized in dialog boxes instead of a generic type. That's about it though. You should be able to get yours off Windows Update.

I didn't think they made a difference either...but with FD Trinitron G1 monitors, it does seem to have an effect on what refresh rates I can force (since, for some reason, the EDID isn't set for the best possible refresh rate on each resolution).
