I posted yeasterday, about my computer not posting on the scree, and it seems everyone said my motherboard was dead. I just have one question if it is dead how come the lights on it still light up, it still power up when I hit the power button on my case? There are no sounds coming from it like the boops* you get when you first start, could it be the CPU? I still just don't think its the motherboard, cause power is going to all CPU fan and stuff? Thanks guyRussell891
Could be your cpu but a sudden failure on your cpu is very unlikly. I had the same thing happen to me (board would turn on fans would spin up and no post) it turned out it was the northbridge that failed.

Its not like it stopped, I was building a new PC, so there no way for me to know, lol. So, it could be all the parts? perhaps?

If it was another part you would hear beeps, probably the southbridge is dead,as that's the part that handles the bios.or the northbridge, maybe. Please Log In to post.
