since this is a new build should I still go with a mobo that is a pcie 3.0 or just stick the ones that are still 2.0 x 16 since its not that big of a difference in performance.

Its up to how good a computer you want it to be. U dont really need a 3.0 unless you get the best card out but I got it because I wanted a good board so yeah.

Just look at the basic stuff on the MB, wathever is + they charge it extra, and there is no diference in performance. Go for 3.0PCI MB, after IB comes out you can upgrade since IB will use socket 1155 and 2011, and PCI 3.0 support. And you can buy PCI 3 GPU after that and youll get 50% boost performace!

I would recommend against a micro atx board. The only reason I don't suggest buying one is if you plan on building a 'gaming' rig you may run into space issues. For example on an old micro atx board I had with a full sized GPU it covered 2 of the 4 SATA ports. Just making you aware of the issues before hand.

I think the Asus is a little bit more expensive, but the Gigabyte I believe is almost identical.

Don't get a mATX unless a) you can't fit an ATX or b) you're on a very tight budget and prices are unforgiving. Getting a micro board will just cause you extra trouble if you some day want to add expansion cards etc.
