I got this GE wireless optical mouse over a month ago, and from the moment I plugged it in, the mouse wheel has acted wonky. Clicking it works fine, but no matter what program I'm using, any attempt to scroll fails miserably.
By "failing" I don't mean it doesn't scroll. I mean it doesn't scroll the way I want it to. If I try to scroll down a page, it might scroll down two notches, then decide to scroll up three, then back down one, then up two more, then back down four notches, then back up two, then down three again...
It's like my screen is having a seizure every time I try to scroll with the mouse wheel. Normally this isn't a huge issue, just a minor inconvenience, because I can grab and drag scroll bars manually. But since I'm playing Fable: TLC, it's becoming a huge issue that's severely hampering my play style.
Does anybody have any ideas that might help me fix this issue? Or is it just "sorry, your mouse is busted, live with it or buy a new one"?
