Hello all gamespot members. I am having multiple problems with Max Payne since i upgraded to Windows 7. It used to run fine on XP SP3 but now the problems i face are -

1. No sound...sound drivers are correctly installed, in game sounds are OK but the voices in the narration during the storyboard (comic like, also comes when press F1) is not audible to me.

2. Constant Crash...The game crashes in between after running about 15-30 mins. Windows says me to check for an online solution or close the game.

My System Specifications

Windows7 Ultimate

2GB RAM DDR2, 250GB HDD (WD Cavier Blue)

Intel PentiumD @ 2.80GHz

Graphic : Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family

Sound : Realtek High Definition Audio

Monitor : SAMSUNG SyncMaster 943 - 18.5"

The same specifications and drivers were on Windows XP when i used it. Please look into the problem and look for a solution. Thanks in advanced :)

You have to convert the sound files to get proper sound under Vista/Windows 7. I believe this is the sound fix patch : http://www.fileshost.com/download.php?id=AACF21FD1 As for the crashes, not sure since i've never seen max payne crash before.

To be honest, your crashes could very well be caused by the sound issue. Use the sound patch and see what happens and go from there.
